The competition Floyd would have faced in Duran's era definitely would have been much better but fukk out of here with this "ordinary" bullshyt...That's like saying Kobe would have been just another baller in the 90's...Statements like that are off the wall retarded...You can criticize the mans resume all you want but you cannot deny his skillset...

:what: Dude, you can't be serious. Floyd fights nothing like Leonard in relation to the "No Mas" (and there's a lot more to that than the actual fight, but I digress). Leonard was the complete package, speed, power, size, ring smarts, agility, and he was in his prime and Duran moved up two weight classes and gave Leonard his 1st loss. Floyd is a spot fighter who relies on one punch counters. Especially at Welterweight where Floyd isn't prime, he's gonna make Duran quit?
:what:
Seen a Floyd fight before he went to 140/147 breh??

for the record I also do think Floyd would be competitive in any era...I bash Floyd on his choice of fights in his career and his "agendas" but I never bash his fighting ability...ever...ive said it numerous times I enjoy watching him box and that he's an all time great in terms of boxing skill only..careerwise remains to be seen
Well when Floyd wasn't the man people were hesitant to fight him though . Once he became hot then everyone wanted him to fight them

I saw somebody get in the balls, and then saw it ruled as a legitimate knockout :manny:

Watch from about 2:54 on, sh*t is :why: status. And let's be reality, Gabby Jay Buchanan wouldn't last 13 rounds against Floyd :heh:

Like I said before, you never watched the fight.

Don't see how anyone can argue with what Manos de Piedra said.
Floyd would not have been considered a bum or nothing but he would have definitely been "just another guy in the bunch" back in Duran's day when you factor in that bunch consisting of Duran, Hagler, Hearns, Benitiez and Leonard and not seen as head and shoulders above the rest of the fighters in boxing like he is today.
ANd all you dudes getting heated would agree with Duran too if you would stifle all them emotional feelings you have towards Floyd and actually read what the man said before slapping on your capes and flying to Floyd's defense.

Only once his though in his only victory of substance, and got beat down every time he step up.......

Is Ricardo Mayorga a ATG, how about Buster Douglass, getting lucky once means absolutely shyt:beli:
Saying ridiculous shyt like that makes it hard to take your opinion on boxing seriously, bruh.

:manny: Ok b, you're right because you say so :rudy: The guy took one uppercut at the welterweight level and never returned to form, yet he'd run though today's welterweight division like a finish line :dead: Let's look at the facts:

Lightweight
-Beat Buchanan via low blow
-Beat Kobayashi whose claim to fame was defending his title against Asians :heh:
-Lost to Esteban DeJesus (this alone should kill the argument of Duran being able to hang with Floyd)

Welterweight
-Lost to SRL after 1st rematch, and then continued to lose

Middleweight
-Lost to Benitez
-Lost to CAC Kirk :dead:
-Lost to Hearns
-Lost to Hagler
-Beat Journeyman Barkley

Super Middleweight
-Lost to Camacho
-Lost to SRL

Please explain to me where his props come from? Saoul Mamby? Barkley? Fluke win against SRL? :mindblown: Could you imagine Clyde Drexler coming out and saying Kobe would be just another player in the 90s? :heh:
Thank You....................This

:mindblown: at Floyd haters

this is roberto duran.....this isn't some one hit wonder or some shyt.....duran hasn't fought since 2001 and his name still rings bells in anyone who calls themselves a boxing fan...duran earned the right to say what he wants to say about boxers today..and he's done that plenty of times..floyd isnt exempt from criticism...i personally dont agree with about floyd would have been ordinary in his era but thats his opinion..however the stans replying that "duran is hating" and discrediting his career based on his losses and knowing nothing about his career is absolutely ridiculous

:mindblown: At these dumb nikkas thinking that Duran's losses somehow hurt his credibility and negates any opinion on Floydie. You stans need to stop it
Duran was a good fighter just not great, you dont get credit for fighting everyone and taking ass whipping after ass whipping, which is Duran vs Floyd is not a fair comparison, Duran stans will get butthurt about people spouting truth about his career

Will Mayorga get the same love as Duran 20 years from now for beating Forrest then preceedding to get his ass whipped by every other HOF he fought, so why the praise and bloviating of Duran's career, he was a good fighter nothing more, the Cotto of his era

His opinion is his opinion, doesnt mean we have to agree. Floyd is a once in a 100 year type of athlete and the numbers dont lie he's the greatest offensive and defensive fighter all time by numbers, never been dropped, hurt legit like once, faces number fighter after number 1 fighter, resume littered with HOF since he was like 20, what more do yall want.
