You're that guy, huh? Always digging too far trying to prove your intelligence. Harry Greb??? You're using his opponents as a barometer instead of his actual skill set?? You can't look at Harry Greb and honestly say skill set wise he's better than Floyd. You're trying too hard, my man.

This is boxing and nikka talkin' about skill set, if you ain't beating HOF fighters what points do you get for skillset? :mjlol:

I never brought Floyd into the GOAT discussion, get it together. Now it's f*ck Ortiz after you had him in the top 10. Now it's Maidana? Explain how.

So easy to just copy n paste

Marcos Maidana is a top 10 Floyd opponent, and he also beat prime Ortiz himself to the point he quit

No sucker punches needed by Maidana in order to beat Ortiz:sas2:

That's not what he said, he said Greb beat 16 HOF fighters. To give you an analogy, you're comparing a NCAA basketball player to an NBA hall of famer breh, it's two completely different levels

Again, you're using his era to prop him up. Nobody in here saw Greb fight. And if you do look at clips of his, nobody in their right mind would pick him to beat Floyd. Henry Greb is not a better fighter than Floyd. Maybe I'm reading the thread title wrong, cause it seems like you cats are debating Garcia saying this is the greatest era of all time. If you pick Greb over Floyd in a fight, you don't know anything about boxing.

So we've established I never brought Floyd into the GOAT debate. So...getting back to what you were saying...explain how Maidana is top 10.

It's starting to get crazy in here.

nikkas dont even care about your resumes anymore, just your skills.

Im guessing Champ _KW has Zab Judah in his top 12 140-147 lbers in the last 30 years since we're going by just strictly "skill set":dead:

You really don't think boxing is about skill set???? Stop hiding behind the HOF. Arturo Gatti is a HOF'er for crying out loud. Sportswriters votes trump what you actually see with your own eyes?? It's almost embarrassing having a educated conversation with "boxing" fans that laugh off the thought of a boxer having superior "skill sets" and act like the HOF is the end all be all to what makes a fighter great.

So a guy who beat 16 HOF fighters, over half of whom were in their prime is not as good as a guy who beat arguably just 1? :russ:

I'm saying though, RJJ is a top 3 lock, his punching speed and striking range is impeccable, obviously if given the chance he could beat any boxer from any era ol' " I just saw Dwight Howard win the dunk contest he must be the GOAT center azz nikkaz":mjlol::pachaha:

Yeah, because Floyd a 147lber who has never weighed in over 151 can beat arguably the greatest Middleweight ever who also fought up as high as heavyweight:wow:

Show me any of my posts where I said the word "strictly". I explicitly said skill set and resume wise, Floyd is in the conversation. I got cats in here propping up Greb on the sheer basis of his resume knowing damn well they wouldn't bet a dime on Greb in a fight with Floyd based on Floyd's superior skill set. Nobody on here seems to stay within the realm of context when talking boxing.

I did....you dont wanna accept it:manny:

Hernadez/Corrales/Castillo/Judah/DLH/Hatton/Cotto/Alvarez were the only 8 fighters that Floyd fought they were definitely better than Marcos Maidana at the time of the fight. JMM could be argued, but Im gonna respond by continuing to point out he was dragged up 2 weight divisions from 135 to 147 for a fight with Floyd and wasnt the same in his 1st fight at a new weight class. Then Mosley, and with him being 39 years old and 14 months of inactivity before fighting Floyd....then going on to draw with Sergio Mora in his next fight 4 months later proves he wasnt the same fighter he was when he beat Margarito 14 months prior.

Skill sets mean nothing if it doesnt translate to wins:sas1:

Zab Judah was MUCH more "skilled" than Carlos Baldomir.....who won that fight again?:sas2:

I suggest you watch some film on Greb. He was great for his era. He'd get beat quite easy today.

Duh! Stop building straw men. Nobody is talking about Zab. Floyd's skills do translate into wins.
