If Ridley Scott and his ilk actually read recent studies in academia, they would know that the Ancient Egyptians during dynastic periods were indignous Africans who clustered with other Africans and not non-Africans like Europeans or Middle Easterners. Ridley Scoot brings up "cross road geography". He and others don't understand that Ancient Egypt DEVELOPED INSIDE INNER AFRICA; Ancient Egypt during early-mid dynastic periods was a Nile Valley/Saharan power before it was a Mediterranean/Levant power. He says he wants to best represent the culture of the Ancient Egyptians... Well recent material shows the Ancient Egyptian culture to be of African influence; even inner Africa from Central Africa. A transplant culture if you will.
