And I do think they're a bit gun shy on anything being dark or perceived to be right now. Right or wrong they've chosen a direction and probably don't want any product that goes against that.
It's only a matter of time before James Wan dips too. WB is a dumpster fire
They obviously are shook by the constant whining from people about how "dark" their movies have been and want to try and avoid that label at any cost. If that is the case then they should just give the director gig to Kevin Smith.
The episode of The Flash TV series was well done and as long as Smith isn't responsible for writing it he can be a really good director for hire.
Its crazy but Greg Berlanti actually only has 3 directing credits to his name.may as well give it to Berlanti and keep it moving

Two romantic comedies and the pilot for that USA mini-series Political Animals.
He has written and produced a ton of shyt but isn't a very prolific director.
He is supposed to be directing the Booster Gold movie though. I wonder if he would even have the time with his writing/EP and developing of the Booster movie going on.I fukked with political animals. And I still say give it to him. He's been steering the ship for 3 years and clearly knows the character and seems to have the tone they're going for. Not saying I wouldn't want them to find someone else if possible but they're kinda swimming upstream at this point if they keep ignoring what's right in front of their faces.

Here's what bugs me out about studios: You initially pick a director because you're sold on their vision and it melds with yours. They hired him because he was in-line with what they wanted to do. THR is saying he walked because his vision had a bit more edge than they liked. Isn't that something you'd know beforehand? Or is it that really just something you'd see when the script pages come in?
Naw...don't need them rushing that movie...that has to be a hit critically.Well that's a shame. Dope was cool, was glad to see dude get a big budget gig. I guess they can just bump the Batman's release date up to where Flash was.
