It's a good look for him money wise, but it's interesting if you follow the trajectory of many (most) directors, who 'make it', they do something really dope and inspired like 'The Wood', edge into the mainstream (15 years later) with 'Dope', then all the way in with something like this......Look at Antoine Fuqua too, explosive, gritty, angry kind of movie 'Training Day' now he does B level action movies that make a lot of money. I really thought Famuiywa embarrassed himself with 'Dope', I hope he makes movies that remind me of the kind of talent that made 'The Wood' an instant childhood classic, back in 99.

THis is a shocking pick for director but has me pretty hyped to see what Famuyiwa will do with the property.

I wish they would replace Ezra Miller as The Flash.
I saw some more recent photos of Miller and it looks like DC has made him clean up and start working out a little. He doesn't look like a hipster crackhead anymore.

Kersey Clemons in consideration for Iris West

The Flash” director Rick Famuyiwa is already zeroing in on a familiar face for the DC film’s female lead.

Sources tell Variety that Famuyiwa’s top choice for the female lead in “The Flash” is Kiersey Clemons, who also starred in Famuyiwa’s critically acclaimed dramedy “Dope.

Warner Bros. had no comment on the casting.

The film stars Ezra Miller, who first appeared as the superhero in WB’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

While details are still vague on who the character may be, insiders say it is likely to be Iris West, the tough-as-nails journalist and friend of Barry Allen, the alter ego of the Flash.

“The Flash” had to overcome the hurdle of replacing the film’s original director, Seth Grahame-Smith, who parted ways with the project over creative differences. The film, however, appears to be able to meet its start date. Production is expected to commence sometime this year.

The studio is keeping Smith’s most recent draft of the script, which is based on a treatment by Chris Miller and Phil Lord.

Clemons star has risen significantly since her breakout performance in “Dope.” Since the pic, she landed a role as one of Chloe Moretz’s sorority sisters in “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” as well as one of the leads in Sony’s remake of “Flatliners.”

She is repped by UTA, MJMG and Mach 1 Management.

Rita Ora can get all the way the fukk out of here.
Lucy Boynton was good in SING STREET but I don't want a white Iris.
They need to just give the role to Kiersey...she is just :whew: and she looks good with long haor or short:
