:comeon: The Skins do not run a one-read system nor a spread system. It's Shanahan's west coast passing tree (the same one that Montana and Young and Elway used) with some new pistol and read-option concepts mixed in. It might be the most complex system in the league.

That system is a whole lot more pistol than it is WCO.

I hear you. Basically the organization should have made the decision to basically concede. It sucks...but Griffin is the long term guy and they gave up a ton to get him...they did really botch it if he's really hurt.

Usually id say its the playoffs fukk it u only get so many chances but wehn he had that 10 yard run where it looked like he was running in quicksand and could hardly move i thought at that point it was more harm then good having him in there

Dude Ben's like 260 pounds

And he's breaking down.

At the end of the day, MOST Qbs don't last long in this league, whether they stay in the pocket or run.

I must say that I agree with Boomer Esiason when he says that coaches need to do a better job of protecting the players from themselves.

Yea, you can;t blame the guy for wanting to battle until the very end.

Shanahan should have cut him off at some point though, he is the great player and leader of that team, but there was a clear point where he had nothing left and it was before that botched snap.

The only way Shanny could have won in that situation was by winning the game. He would have been criticized no matter what with a loss.

Most Qbs break down in their early 30s. We're seeing it with Big Ben and others. Peyton just survived a major neck injury. Even he couldnt' avoid almost being knocked out of the game.

It's a receipe for disaster standing in the pocket as much as it is running outside of it. I just don't get why the media isn't honest about it.

Oh you get why the media aint honest about it.....

But yeah, you can get hurt just as badly staying in the pocket as opposed to running...

:mindblown:

the Pistol is just a damn formation. Like the I formation, single back formation, shotgun formation, or wishbone formation.

The offense is primarily Shanahan's West Coast Offense. The same thing he ran with Steve Young back in 1994, and that he won 2 super bowls with John Elway.

The pistol formation just adds misdirection when running play action or doing the read option.

There is nothing "gimmicky" about this offense, no matter what those doofuses on ESPN tell you.

Of course but were talking about a qb who takes vicious hits and isnt that big, with the size of defensive players today thats a recipe for disaester

Theyres a reason guys like Vick are breaking down in their early 30's and Brady and Peyton are still beasting in their late 30's u cant take all these hits from these defensive players in todays game

Vick really hasn't broken down. :snoop:

Shenanigans offense for rg3 is not what's popping. He needs a better line. And shouldn't always have to use his "athletic" abilities.

Don't need E!SPN to tell me this is a gimmick offense, it is.

It's a fringe offense. It is not the norm, therefore it's a gimmick at this point.

Trust me the league isn't turning into this, this shyt is Wildcat 2.0.

You can't ask to change the gameplan to suit yourself, that's kinda silly.

The gameplan was working fine, they got up 14-0 running the ball.

yea but why was he still running the ball with a bum knee??

But from the way that RG3 tells, it seems he's the one who made the dumb decision to run out there on that bum knee.

True ish right here. A lot of responsibility is left on the QB and he has to be football savvy....

They probably got 20 packaged plays a game and each play has several options the QB can choose from and the success of the offense depends a lot on the QB making the option

It won't be considered complex until Johnny Manzeil (who I'm a fan of) gets to the pros and runs it.

BANK IT!!! :heh:
