Our ppl have been systematically oppressed, hunted, enslaved all by the same "home" country we're expected to love and support, yet we're here. But our kids need to be more resilient?

One of the most irritating myths that people repeat is that white people are ignorant of how racism benefits them.
They aren't. They absolutely know that if black people are denied loans, white people get them. If black people are denied college admissions, white people get them. If black people are targeted by police and jailed, white people don't have to interact with them, if black people remain at double digit unemployment, white people stay at single digit unemployment. They know if history that shows how inhumane and horrible they were and still are to others isn't taught, then they get to still feel good about themselves and the system that puts them first not changing.
They know all of the ways in which racism benefits them, and asking them to disadvantage themselves and their children is absurd to them. They do not want to give up their advantages. History has shown these people will literally fight and die to protect the system that gives them their safe spaces and preferential treatment. The only way racism ends in America is the same way the multi century system of slavery ended: with violence.
