Let's take a minute.
I'm trying to see this from both sides. But here are the facts. Kaepernick has started 3 games. He was great in the Bears games, he deserved the props he got, but overall the Bears laid down that game, we could have won that game with Scott Tolzien, but no matter Kaep played well. In the Saints game, I Kaep played ok that game was a push. In this game today, Kaep was very average, he made some good throws and he had an impressive 50 yard run, but that aside, dude was just ok. The problem is this, when you switch QB's in the middle of the season, you typically do it when your season is in trouble. Not in the middle of a top seeded playoff run. No one here are really fanboys of Alex we all understand his weaknesses, but in terms of OUR offense he brings more strengths. We all know he can't throw a deep ball but outside of Randy Moss do we have any real deep threats, not really. We are a POWER RUN offense, which means we run first and essentially pass the ball to keep defenses honest. In that case conservatism is a virtue, becasue Harbaugh offense in general, is not built to be high scoring, it's meant to chew clock. Kaep will be a better QB than Alex Smith, maybe as soon as the end of season but right now HE ISN'T. Not yet but if he's going to play now at this crucial juncture in the season then yes he will be held to the same standard as a 7 year veteran, those are the breaks.
