BTW, this losing every third game shyt would make perfect sense.

I can see us beating Miami & New England the next 2 weeks, then we got Seattle in Seattle.

That Seattle game is almost a must win. They have the Cards, at the bills, and then the Niners. That game could be for first place in the division if we drop another game and they don't.

Oh yeah, it's a must win, don't mean that we will though.

That's the game out of the final 4 that worries me the most.

We really weren't aware of what kinda shaky ground we were on, I honestly don't see us getting that 2 seed and it's unreal but the division isn't even a lock now either. It's as simple as they win the next 2, we win the next 2 and we lose to them and they got the division in their hands.

Yes, but in reality Akers shouldn't even have been in position to have to make that kick. We gave the rams 10 points and we only scored 13. it's hard to put the game on Akers miss, I get what you're saying if he makes it we win, but it's a team effort...

To me, whether he should've or shouldn't have been in that situation is irrelevant. He was in that position and he's expected to produce. Honestly, don't see how we can proceed with him as our place kicker. I have zero faith in him right now and I'm not even on the team, so I can only imagine how everybody else feels.

These are the types of games we have to win if we want to secure the division and a first round bye.

Oh I agree with you, i`m done with Akers too, but the only problem is there's not a wealth of kickers lying around who can kick a FG well.

But the fact that he shouldn't have been in that position is not irrelevant, it speaks to other issues with the team.

Just like how when KW fumble he wasn't the only reason we lost, every loss is a team loss.

Just like we need to address Akers we need to address other things

- Roman's playcall
- Kaep's declining play
- RB situation
- Akers

Those are our 4 biggest concerns to me.

I can guarantee you that you can look at whatever team(s) you consider elite and they've all been in the same position we were in yesterday where the kicker had to make a kick. That's just part of the game; no team is perfect and when the kicker is called upon to "bail the team out" or whatever, that's what he has to do. It's his job.

I guess we'll just agree to disagree on it being irrelevant or not.

im not sure what harbaugh can do besides taking more of a role in playcalling, i dont even know if hes remotely involved

kaep played well, he made some good accurate throws.

rb situation, well hey lets give that second rounder a chance?

akers, well the options arnt much better

We could talk about yestedays game all day, but to try and move onto another topic.

Our defense is playing great at this point, i`m real happy to see them start to pick it up down the stretch. The pass rush has stepped up the last few games and check out the league standings

-1st in PPG allowed with 14.3, 2 points ahead of #2 team
-2nd in YPG allowed
-2nd in Passing YPG allowd
-4th in Rushing YPG allowed (Some might call that putrid)
-Aldon got 17.5 sacks, 5 off the NFL record with 4 games left, one being AZ.

We're not forcing as many turnovers, but overall this defense is playing better than it was in 2011 in my opinion.
no its not. how are you watching the games and letting these stats blind you ? :why: this is like saying alex qb rating is better than last year thus hes playing better :snoop:
last year we didnt give up a rushing TD until lynch late in the year. we went toe to toe with giants twice. rams rushing put up 150 rush yards on us in that tie game. eli and ponder torched us. this d's novelty is wearing off. its still sound and it wins games by being fundamental, but its nowhere as dominant as last year.

No, he played mediocre at best, he basically was doing what so many criticize Alex for doing with the short check downs and then he made big mistakes that were a huge detriment to the team.

That is not playing well.

Yeah, but if the kicker bailed us out there it would just hide the flaws of that game.

That was a downright bad offensive game by us. We need much better going forth, we need that explosiveness that we all thought would come with Kap, because if we got it yesterday the -10 on him wouldn't have mattered.

The reliability of the veteran.

The last 2 weeks you saw clear signs of inexperience from Kaep. His mistakes led to 10 points yesterday, they're young mistakes but he is a young player.

If we're going to be getting the same production o f about 200-225 yards passing and 1-2 touchdowns from the QB, we gotta go with the one who isn't gonna make critical errors.

I`m all for Kaep in 2013, fresh start from day one. I just know that when we get to the playoffs theres gonna be enough film on him, people will scheme for him and his inexperience will be a big liabilty.

I think we forget how clean and comfy the pocket was for Kaep in Chicago and New Orleans. For the most part he had all day to sit back and carve up chicago, NO brought somre more pressure but nothing serious.

Yesterday the Rams brought serious heat at him and he got sacked and his game changed a lot
barring a huge meltdown we still make offs, and still have good chance at #2 seed. harbs is preparing kaep for
like youve said, weve now seen kaep can do safe stuff when passing the ball he has 1 pick in 3.5 games, and one safety that wasnt really a safety. that shyt on the pitch can happen to anyone.

yesterday was a game of shytty breaks. we only had one going for us(the qb roughing bs call). they had 1)akers miss 2)delaine sure TD drop 3) stupid ass golston penalty 4)that dumbass toss/pitch 5)kaep running out of bounds

like it or not, alex is limited in downfield passing. kaep can be limiting mistakes too, under this playcalling, but he can hit a target 30 yards down without being a dumb slinger.

fact is, our defense is NOT playing better this year. were beating up on sorry teams. our d doesnt play well, and we get destroyed by the Giants with both kaep or alex. but at least with kaep we can try to fight back.

also...Ive read what fisher said...and none of it sounded like 'jabs' to me.
more like he was saying the truth. he expected less time to be left off till the final drive and wasnt sure what we were trying to do on the toss but it helped them

sounds like the truth and no jabs at all

The D's novelty, what is novel about allowing 14ppg? Are we running goofy schemes that people haven't seen? What is NOVEL about this defense? Choose your words better.

Sound, you call that defense sound? We have multiple games holding teams under 6 points. we shut down the Saints, Packers and Lions and we lost the Giants game due to Alex having 3 turnovers.

The only truly bad performance from this unit this year was Minnesota and the first half of the Rams game.

Last year all the turnovers carried the defense, to me this team is better this year.. Look at yesterday defense pitched a fukking shutout for 59 minutes on the road.

The defense is better this year than last, just my opinion

To tthe bolded stuff

- So now we're lowering the bar to "Hey at least we'll still make the playoffs". And the #2 seed, to me, is gone. 3/4 of those gamnes left are all games we can lose, if we go 3-1 I think we still lose out the 2 seed to the Packers, Bears or Giants.

- Alex is limited but it's not like he is incapable of throwing it down field with success (Kaep's better at it though), but dude was 3rd in the league in YPA. I think we over-emphasize this down the field passing, as 49ers fans you`d think we`d understand there's more to QBing than throwing it 20 yards past the line of scrimmage.

- You discredit the defense when you say we're just beating up on bad teams. We held Seattle to 6 and they just dropped 24 on Chicago. We shut down NO in the Superdome and got scored 14 defensive points. We handle the Packers and kept them below 20 points at home in the opener.

- Your "Kaep can at least fight back" is just completely unproven 100%. You or no one else has any valid reason to claim that, the kid has not had any success coming back in this league. There is no evidence whatsoever of him being able to "fight back". Against the Rams he couldn't, he only tied us up and we tied in OT. We went ahead in that game because of aspecial teams fumble. And we didn't win. So honestly, save that Kaep can save the day stuff, there is no evidence of such. He could just as easily be the type to self-destruct when you're down guy, we simply do not know.
