They won't come back if you decapitate them or torch their corpse during/after killing them. But shotguns don't reliably decapitate them and torching them requires running around with a lighter and fuel (or wasting flame rounds on them). Better to dodge them if you can and only kill them if you don't need to come back to a certain area
Funny thing is you will face at least two of them no matter what
