Game leaks don’t even happen over there like they use too, they get their news from Reddit, Twitter and 4 cac. Only time they get a “leak” is when Nate The Hate says one post and they run with it till a blog site repost’s it and makes its way on to Twitter.

as bad as reddit is, even that site is a better place to talk about games. I use it for halo since its pretty hit or miss here.

the arcadium used to have a lot more variety but when folk go off on the same dumbshyt like its the theme then obviously the contribution is gonna narrow right along with it

The site absolutely needs to open registration. I know the fear is a flood of unwanted bullshyt but you combat that with more mods. The arcadium in particular has seen the sharpest decline in participation since coli launched:

This sub can't sustain itself off 1 or 2 high-volume posters. And it doesn't need to...have you looked at the guest/member ratio? I've been saying this even without the provided data to back it up. New blood would likely shake up the insular conversation and stan wars.

Yeah Arcadium has shrunk but just to emphasize a lot of the shrinkage pre-2015 was because movies were being discussed in here and those were taken out to create The Film Room, thus the early big drop. Yeah, the rest has been steady decline though.

I always thought moderation for new members might be easier if you have a probation period where you could track who accumulates a large negative rep early, who doesn't post within 30 days of registration, and targeted complaints. A lot of web forums came back from the dead during lockdown so that might have been a missed opportunity.

2 reasons i think.

1. to avoid trolls. When maga happened i saw a couple sites i liked that went to the shytter during the 2016 election.

2. this site kinda seems like its been abandoned n on its last legs, more people means more infrastructure, which the owners aint willing to deal with.

Besides occasionally saying ni99a here I post the same as I do there . But I don't care since I mostly fell off....I get my news/leaks and dip. I'll take the occasional console bickering on thecoli over draconian moderation. I'm as "liberal" as they come but I don't have the energy for the condescension and sanctimonious shyt.
