so because the original BCT thread took off, brought together a lot of folks, and was one of the fastest growing communities on the site - it inspired a lot other similar joints. and because we got more than our fair share of bullshyt for simply making an ongoing discussion more visible to say the least, some of the moderation took offense to the request to actually do their fukking jobs and stop harassment. that led to feelings getting hurt by bad faith cornballs, lames, and ambitious victims and the typical response? merge all the latin, asian, black, and the white people whofeelleftout joints together.

and even after we went through getting our own channels separate from the site established, remaking shyt, etc - motherfukkers were still acting like it was a privilege and that some of us were just 'angry for no reason'. and my biggest mistake at the time while pushing through most of that and getting people back on the same page was thinking that giving ground and being polite about it would allow for more freedom in the long term.

what frustrated me about the merged thread was all the lost momentum. the barbershop thread felt so organic, it was like every black person on the site came out to give a heads up or had something to say. then that shyt happened, and a lot of just retreated back to where they came from, never coming into the bct thread. then like said, it became obvious that not all threads got the same attention. the gay and womens thread had someone on guard the moment someone stepped slightly out of place, yet the bct got trolls, and the various a$$holes with their "white culture threads". but looking back, i dont know what i should have suspected when a known drug user, and eventual convicted pedophile was let to run loose until the latter news came out then the owner tried to scrub his involvement with that dude like he wasnt bragging on him before. as i think more about it, maybe the ones that didnt come back were the smart ones.

You're also assuming everyone here has the same username when clearly they don't. If the argument for keeping registration closed is that all the hyper liberals from Era or racists from reddit will destroy Coli it doesn't hold up. Because there are clearly decent folks that want to chop it up and talk about games. All I suggested is that we open registration up for a little bit and see what happens. The current mods just have to enforce what we got going on and enlist help if needed .

There's a few brehs here that I know are on era/gaf either because they've said as much or we share discord servers. For whatever reason some of them don't use the same username . This debate started because someone said to keep new people out so they wouldn't bring the looney resetera shyt over here but there's no evidence of that happening. I'm over there. gizmo, who basically held this sub down last year, is over there. winb83, rembrandt...I mean, it doesn't make sense to keep things closed off based on some irrational fear of "agents". I know you aren't the person who said that but you responded to my post about last year's most active poster. Yea TLR and the coliseum are doing fine but arcadium is definitely hurting from the inertia. Anyway the mods obviously aren't budging on the subject so it is what it is.
