They were operating under the belief they’d get a third season. Netflix wanted to cut the number of episode from 13 to 10 (a great fukking idea) and they balked at it. So when you’ve got lower ratings and you’re playing hardball at the negotiating table, it all becomes part of the reasons to throw you to the bushes.
This needs to happen to ALL of the marvel shows. Cut all that obvious filler and padding theee fukk out. shyt fukks up every show.
Daredevil might be on the block next
Exactly. I argued with someone that said it's because the ratings dropped when there's no evidence of that and then tried to bring lack of talk on social media. You can measure .shows by social media interaction but Netflix rarely if ever cancels a show. The only one to question here is Disney and what their involvement was with the shows cancellation. That could be a factor. But then the other question is, how dope is a show if it only retains 40% of its viewership from season 1 to season 2. If you’re a fan you’re a fan and you’ll watch whether it’s one year two years or three years between seasons. I liked season 2 better than season 1 most definitely but season 1 felt like an event. Like you had to watch that shyt or else. Season 2 didn’t have that feeling and maybe momentum does come into play in that situation.
The true issue for me anyway, is Netflix doesn’t release numbers so any story on their ratings is secondhand. Another issue is the corporate story here. If the ratings drop off is like being reported, Netflix is right to want to renegotiate the terms of the deal. But since Disney is making their own streaming network to directly compete with them, they have no incentive to give marvel any breaks in those negotiations. If they make a suggestion and marvel says “nah” then they can just walk away rather than keep extending life lines. Now the ball is in marvel’s court as to what they want to do because they have options.

Netflix has been playing hard ball for years and finally met someone they can't outball. It looks like they're trying to get off the court instead of playing.Well it’s Disney and money. Like I said in that same post, what’s Netflix’s incentive to negotiate? If the rumors are true and they wanted to cut the episode numbers by three and the ratings were a catalyst for that, why would they play ball with marvel? Tell them to kick rocks and figure it out on their own since they’re building their own service.
Netflix is going to have to start canceling shows and they started that within the last 2-3 years. They’ve got a lot of content and the more competition they get, the more all of that content becomes precious and valuable real estate.
