Report: Luke Cage & Iron Fist Lost 2/3 of Viewers in Second Seasons

Jessica Jones was worse than both Luke Cage & Iron Fist in my opinion

Second season of JJ was so boring I had to bail on it.

Living Single and Friends come out the same time with the same premise...One was loved by the black audience, but didn't have enough white support to last beyond season 5. The other was overwhelmingly supported by whites and lasted 10 years. Despite JJ being trashed by everybody here, it is outlasting LC because it obviously has more support from white people that don't find it "too black"...Ya'll shouldn't have been that confused

I got that homie. But again you’re using your personal presence to negate math. You say Jessica Jones is trash because people on this site trash it but this site isn’t the end all be all and never will be. This is a small ass sample size at best. It also posits white people don’t watch luke cage, which again, you’d need math to make a claim like that or it’s just us talking out our asses.

And the friends living single analogy is flawed because it posites black people didn’t and don’t still watch friends which you’d need the math on to do.

I cut Luke Cage off and never went back once they brought in Diamondback with his jive talking corniness.

And for Iron Fist I was like boo at the fight scenes in season 1, and got annoyed hearing the name Bakuto. Show kinda sucked TBH!

And for DD, I despise the guy that plays Kingpin

Homie I don’t care enough to even try that lol but I’m sure the shyt ain’t impossible. All depends on geography and where you grew up and what your surroundings were. I never put anything like that past anyone cause I don’t know everyone’s story. I got a family member who liked friends when we were kids and he’s the last person I’d ever thought would be into it. But his sister got him into it and that’s how he became a fan so yeah anything is possible

Luke Cage was just boring and they made him too much of a cornball. It doesn't help that Mike Coulter is boring. They still could have gone the route of not making him a reformed thug. At least get someone who isn't corny. It's like they wanted a safe non threatening black man that wouldn't intimidate a white audience. Like there were show notes from Netflix that said could they make him a little less black. He wasn't even from Harlem, or NYC. He was from Georgia.... and not even Atlanta. He's not from any urban area. At the end of the day though folks still thought it was too black.

Punisher was easily better than LC

Punisher gets so much hype but I seriously dont remember anything that happened in that show outside of the alt right bomber.

That show was at its best playing off current events, shyt was middiling af otherwise

Iron fist was always trash

Luke Cage season 1 was made by the villains, season 2 was a hard watch... and it took me a while to finish it. Didn't enjoy any of it. The main guy isn't interesting and his action sequences are clunky trash esp in season 2. The club, the music... none of it could sustain the show when the acting was ass. The more I watched the less I cared about Luke Cage.

Punisher is still the best so far and dare devil behind it. Luke Cage desperately needed better direction and acting. The feminist crowd loves Jessica Jones. I can't watch that show but I know why it's still there.

It simply has better production value and a better lead actor.

Let's not even talk about the defenders. That was the worst disappointment and I think that contributed to people dropping these other shows. It should have been a vehicle to make them larger but it made me wonder how they botched that worse than any of the solo joints.
