Jessica Jones first season was good.

The second season was shyt with a shyt villain.

Luke Cage first season was good until the second half.

Bushmaster was the best thing in season 2. It definitely had its corny moments tho.

Luke Cage is known to be The Bulletproof man, yet EVERY single episode they try to kill him by shooting him :Ricoohreally:

I’m surprised no one brought up The Punisher. That first season was hit or miss.

Defenders was also dogshyt.

Overall like I said before, some of these shows should have less episodes.

Daredevil is damn near flawless.

I dropped luke Cage for season 2 as well. Ending of season 1 was so underwhelming.

I didn't even know Punisher already had a second season done filming. I haven't finished the first:skip:
I expected a drop off for Luke Cage season two If only because the novelty of seeing the character was gone after the first season. Iron Fist is no surprise considering the horrible reviews. I like JJ season one but I have no desire to watch a second season since the best part of season one was killed off:manny:

I haven't watched DD in a minute (no interest :yeshrug:), but even what I did watch was just on another level compared to the other shows in terms of direction, writing, and acting. The other shows all felt like they were trying to follow DD's template, but struggled to carve out a unique identity.

I hate to use DC as a comparison because I know what that leads to, but look at their TV universe. Arrow is a police procedural with superhero trappings ala "The Dark Knight", Flash and Supergirl are sci-fi romances, Legends of Tomorrow is an action comedy, Black Lightning is a serious black family and crime drama. Regardless of what you think of their quality, each show is going to give you something you can't get from the others. With Marvel Netflix*, what do Iron Fist, JJ, and Luke Cage** really offer that you can't get a better version of from Daredevil? I know they all try to deal with different social and political themes, but theme alone isn't enough if all your shows look and feel too much alike. I think that's where they messed up: they didn't do enough to differentiate between the shows. Then Defenders completely shyt the bed and people just checked out on all except the one they still really like (DD).

I'm curious why JJ is still around though. I haven't heard anything good about the second season.

*Not saying Marvel TV because stuff like Agents of Shield obviously goes for something much different.

** Didn't include Punisher cause I never watched it. Don't like the character.

If social media buzz and viewership are the deciding factor why is Jessica Jones working on season 3?

Nobody gave a fukk about Jessica Jones or her mother.

Social Media Impressions

JJ S1 - 300,000
JJ S2 - 150,000

Luke Cage S1 - 300,000
Luke Cage S2 - 50,000

Iron Fist S1 - 120,000
Iron Fist S2 - 20,000

DD S1 - 275,000
DD S2 - 200,000

Now couple that with the ratings analysis from the OP source.

I know numbers don't really matter when feelings are involved so people are still gonna run with their ":mjpls:" theories etc. etc., but Netflix doesn't have feelings.

If I had 4 products, and 2 of them were (at their worst) tripling the output of the other 2, I'd cut bait on the stragglers, too.

Now add the fact that ultimately, I don't even own the rights to the product in perpetuity.

Add the fact that they cost the same to make. It's not like the underperformers are cheaper to produce.

Add the fact that the manufacturer who produces my product is preparing to open their own retail space so continuing to fund their underperformers is just adding to their bank account.

But what am I saying I forgot where I was. Feminism and racism etc. etc. :lolbron:
