Growing up in the Queens NY/Manhattan arcades ... there were rules to this shyt especially from 1990 to 96.

Rule #1

1) Never play the last arcade cabinet in the corner , where there isn't an exit.
2) never come to the arcade with more than 3 dollars Or anything bigger than a single dollar bill.
3) keep the change jingling sound to a minimum.
4) if by some chance you were somewhere like Far Rockaway or in Brooklyn/Bronx way out of the way without your people's ... make sure if shyt pops off you know your way around the area.
5) White boys carried the most money , you could basically eat off thier quaters.
6) Sometimes you gotta let the grimey hood nikkas win , especially when his people's crowd around you and you keep taking his quaters.

The I in Team
This story was one I told in another thread. Anybody from the north bronx knows that the cue lounge off Boston post rd was a scary place to be at if you didn't know anybody. Lots of projects kids went there and the unwritten rules to gaming were to dress bummy, never carry lots of money and never go alone. I saw some scary shyt there and I consider this the worst.

When I was a kid in the Bronx all my friends used to hang out at this videogame/pool hall called the cue lounge. We was like 9 and there was this kid who was like 17 rocking an 8-ball jacket. Some goons there saw him and started pressing him for his jacket. They waited for him to leave the spot and beat that nikka skull to the white meat for his coat. We was all there watching as these savage nikkas stomped him out and took his coat, sneakers and pants. shyt looked like one of national geographic shows where the hyenas be fighting each other for a piece of antelope meat. When they was done he was a bloody heap on the concrete in his underwear. I won't lie that shyt scared me because of the savagery of the beating. Also because not one person waking by offered to help. No one. People just kept walking like nothing happened. That shyt taught me that if you in a jam in public no one is gonna save you. I also became very conscious of the things I wore after that because I never wanted to end up like that dude was.
