Idk why ya'll hate her so much
She's not a good artist at all. Decent performer.

Rick isn't lying. Alicia was a plant before the word was popular. She was "made" by the industry long before you saw her. That shyt about Clive shytting on Whitney ain't a lie. They had talent but spent years and many efforts cooking up the sorta hood girl who play piano. Shyt was contrived as fukk

Her voice is very flat and she dances like a man. If she wasn't biracial they would have never did that. That was her whole roll out :dead:

This is a bad take. Sounds like you're insinuating Alicia ushered in an era of cac RnB when she was the least pop and most soulful (other than Mary) of all the commercially successful RnB acts. You would have to look at Soul artists to get more of what Alicia brought to the table. She was literally the antithesis of pop RnB when RnB was becoming Tweet, Destiny's Child, Blu Cantrell and Aaliyah's More Than A Woman etc. All music some cac girl could sing and we wouldn't bat an eye. Meanwhile, Alicia was writing songs like A Woman's Worth. Authentic and soulful.

If we gonna keep it funky, Timbalands production is what made it possible for cacs to get into R&B. Not Alicia Keys.

"I'm a fan of Beethoven and Biggie" as I recall from one of her interviews....she seemed phony and fake to me and while her music is passable, her best works aren't her own, either through a sample or someone else writing it.....Without Krucial her shyt is trash....imo...her best song was "Diary" which TTT wrote and Carl Wheeler did the keys on that....she trash!!!!

Rick wasn't even wrong....
"Fallin" was in E
"A Woman's Worth" in E
"Butterflyz" in c# minor
"Goodbye" in c# cminor
"Never Felt This Way" in c minor originally, but transposed to c#minor because the B. McKnight OG version is more challenging to play tonally speaking....they made the baby version for her....

Her and John Legend both make soulless and sappy music....they have the skills, but lack any heart....that is why B. McKnight shyts on both of them effortlessly.....

Exactly....

And hell, I'm not gonna lie. I actually thought back then and still think shes lesbian or at least bisexual. Shes very butch, masculinish. Even the whole "sex symbol" shyt they tried to push to the straight male audience seems inauthentic as fukk. I don't think shes into guys.

Who was she linked to before swizz beats anyway?
