More often than not I tend to take that L.

Cause they ain't built for some brutally honest criticism or advice. I'm sure someone like Rick wasn't coddled by anyone.
If Alicia Keys was dark skinned, she wouldn't have had half of the success she has. Word to India Arie.
The man was just a coke addicted narcissist, he was funny at times, but there is no need to glorify him. What he said wasn't brutally honest criticism, he was just talking shyt.Cause they ain't built for some brutally honest criticism or advice. I'm sure someone like Rick wasn't coddled by anyone.
He basically called Michael Jackson and Prince Uncle Tom's back in 1984You cant even hate on Rick James.
He was a massive star and he had an amazing, powerful voice. The man could sing.
But got damn Rick was savage as fukk. LOL
Go watch old interviews he did in his prime. Crazy.
As a gay man, I agree about not outing people who aren't out but I dont get why some folks hide the obvious like luther vandross
The fact that Rachelle Farrell and Laylah Hathaway didn't blow is criminal. He’s right we are not critical enough when it comes to music ... notice the white girls took off right after Alicia got on ... showing that they can make candy R&B from anyone
Idk why ya'll hate her so much
Rick James looked out for MJ like a big bro (Motown) . Joe Jackson was one of his good friends and has defended Michael publicly. Other than second hand stories Show me where he dissed MJ? ___________\_\\CNN.com - TranscriptsHe basically called Michael Jackson and Prince Uncle Tom's back in 1984![]()
You cannot be coddled when you are on the professional level, musically speaking. Iron sharpens iron.
It seems like after the year 2000, the paradigm for the music industry is to stop challenging artists for better QUALITY, and make watered down hits instead. 22 years later, the watered down hits of today are being outsold by music of decades past.This...even big time artists get told "No Thanks"...that should light fires under their asses to do better...
Can't grow if you aren't challenged as a musician...
