I honestly think it's a good question and discussion. What separates the two? I think we can entertain all answers without getting into the god vs no god debate.
your satire is horrible..
you helped my argument... you basically just said religion is mythologyAnd religion is not.

nothing religion should be regarded as myth.
nah, try again. ill wait...My ridiculous question compares to your ridiculous question far better than Zeus compares to God.
proper criteria? what do you mean bruh?I think in time a religion does become a myth, but I don't think it always is. I think it would be correct in distinguishing the two until proper criteria are met in my opinion.

did you not just say that "and religion is not" implying that what i said about mythology is regarded as so? if not please explain further...

AgreedI think it's important to note that some humans believe current religions to be 100% true and that this belief affects social order and social standing. For example, Greeks might have believed in Zeus but no Zeus worshipper now-a-days is affecting government policy or social standards. It's purely studied as a fairy tale or tale of morality (Which it should be). Interest in it is mostly academic. Can we say that for the other modern religions? I don't think so yet.
It mainly has to do with time and followers as I originally stated but I feel like a distinction is important.
uhhh, religion is regarded as untrueYou asked why religion isn't regarded as myth. Then you said mythology is regarded as untrue. And I said religion is NOT regarded as untrue, thus answering your original question.
One is regarded as untrue, the other is not.
