I don't think Family Matters sucked at all...it just didn't win. Kendrick crushed the impact before it got the chance to do anything, which in hindsight was genius. If Kendrick would've let FM have impact for more than a couple of days, things might've been slightly different because Drake was actually spitting on that. He just fukked up with the slave comment but outside of that it was a good diss....just got washed out by Kendrick's strategic planning.
Even with the flaws imagine if family matters got to chill like pushups did. We talking real different right now.

Nobody cares about any of that. People liked the flow and beat switches, then they rubbed their hands while anticipating the fukkery that would come from it.

Outside of Not Like Us, I don’t see many people revisiting the other songs from the beef. So whether they age well or not doesn’t really matter
lol 6:16 in LA getting broke down like a physics answer….. this post already didn’t age well lmao

man who the fukk you talking bout :dahell: name names or shut the fukk up

tired of cats like you bringing in silly shyt like this when there’s legit discussion to be had :camby:
@Nuuko
@derro13

It's a few more that are literally certified Kendrick bots. They never post outside of shyt involving Kendrick. They make wild outlandish statements about Kendrick's music and this is the most they've posted since they been on this site.

The biggest problem for FM, was Drake let people know when the song was going to drop. It made it easier for Kendrick to counterattack the song when he dropped MTG, it killed off the existence of FM.

Never let your opponent know when you're going to shoot them, shoot them when they least expected.
Nah his biggest problem is that he thinks you supposed to tell the truth when you dissing someone. Which is why he ran out of material and threw better disses Rick Ross, Rocky and Weeknd's way :dead:

he didnt learn the art of dissing from 50: Throw everything against the wall...

That post aged terribly. All of those songs had eatables and replay value. I actually like Family Matters despite it being refuted as being 89% duck tales, but the only quotable in it is Dave FreEeEeEeEeEeEe and nothing else.

FM's suffered from the positives while hiding a shyt load of negatives :francis:

  • The beat was godly, especially the switches
  • Drake was actually spitting and had a good flow, but the bars were a joke and a half
  • The video had some weight (him taking Kenny's van, flaunting jewels, and playing with his kid)
The problem lies with the fact that he REALLY got exposed for his lyrical content and the grim reminder that his ghostwriters were on the prowl.

It didn't help that he kept announcing when he was going to drop disses like a happy-go-lucky hooker, only to deal with a kamikaze unexpected attack that deaded the beef.

Heads constantly talk about how hip hop is so fukked nowadays, but since day zero grown man bars are forever. We are going to be alright and hip hop will continue to prosper through the bullshyt.
