I know the ideal is unfathomable because of the norm that has been ingrained and accepted for generations, but as a society that's constantly evolving it wouldn't hurt to have a discussion about a true medium.

what tangible steps can someone take right now to un-patriarchy themselves? bonus points if you could find one that would actually benefit them.

btw uprooting a "norm" that's a staple of successful societies for centuries just for the sake of re-inventing the wheel..sounds like the most extreme outcome to me.

It's weird, as much as people like to shyt on white hipsters.

Truly liberal white hipsters have ditched most of societies norms, I've come across hipster couples where the man hasn't worked (for a long time) and the female is okay with their situation.

Most of their males seem okay being sensitive and it emotional too.

This is true of some white liberals, yes.
But it's my impression that whites, more so than blacks, are very resistant to parting with 'traditional' gender roles. Black people historically have had no other choice. In the early 20th century, when most white companies refused to hire black men, it wasn't uncommon for black families to defy the societal norm of men working and women house-keeping .

Also, some black African societies are relatively gender neutral . The Aka Pygmies of central Africa practice a social arrangement in which women hunt for food, while men are tasked with the job of caring for children. The Asante Empire historically included women in top political and military roles. Same goes for ancient Nubia, where women also exercised considerable power within the household. That's not to say that African societies are free of sexism, or that we should deny biological differences between men and women. I just think black people need to embrace a more flexible notion of masculinity.

Particularly poor and working class black people. They cling dearly to traditional gender roles when they're the least able to fulfill them. The women want nikkas with big money, but get stuck with men who can't provide for them. The dudes want traditional housewives who cook, clean, and give oral on demand... but get stuck with moody, headstrong women who have to work.

Some of these men need to realize that there are non-monetary ways to provide for your family, and your community. If they dislike the current social order between men and women, it's on them to create a new one. But as it stands, you can't blame women for wanting men who have money, given that men largely define our masculinity in terms of it.

Nah I didn't watch the video, but I clearly said that my post was based on the responses that I did read. I saw cats whining about not being able to live up to what is expected of being a "man" in the world that we live in. You all are absolutely right, nobody likes to hear some bytch ass dude whining/complaining. That shyt is feminine as fukk. I can agree that our society has lost respect and appreciation for "real men" and masculinity, but that doesn't mean that we should conform. The reason that it's become harder and harder to be a man while being less appreciated is because so many men have bytched up and given in to the feminist/politically correct movement. Men have completely given in and allowed women to have their cake and eat it too to the detriment of men. It would be a hard task but small indirect things like making certain careers snd industries gender neutral? Promoting STEM majors trades for females at a younger age, and service hospitality for males?

Change the marital law system in how it treats couples.

This hits close to home ... I had real severe depression social anxiety from an abnormally early age. I finally found a career path for myself and have gotten better and people respond better to me and deep down I kind of resent for that.

What makes it worse is having to listen to all that patriarchy/independent woman BS while women continue to expect a pass for their childish mood swings and evaluating men financial status/looking down on them for expressing anxiety or pain.

There is no reason why a Computer science class should be 90% male and 10% female, but that alone is enough to deter women.

It's a major, you have to pick a computer science class before you realize it's full of dudes. If you're pursuing something as a career, what the hell does the gender makeup of the class have to do with anything?

There is nothing discouraging women (white women especially) from those jobs.
