You guys are missing my point here.

What I'm saying is. Dipsets appeal is the same as Asaps appeal. Being FLY get money fukk the bytches type of dudes.

Juelz Santana n Cam was not puttin no fear in nobody heart we didn't like them cause they was street nikkas we liked em cause they had swag.

N No offense to y'all both. But that's why Harlem is clearly the superior borough. That's why Cam sayin Jones was from the X was perceived as a insult. Cause deep down inside ya NY nikkas know that Harlem is the coolest borough.

Cause they posses the cool factor. Something that the mob has too and had birthed in this new generation.

Whether it is less street or not so be it. It is the same essecene just modern.

nikkas like Carti outchea basing their whole career of being Rocky son n are winning. They ain't doin that for no Don q or Casanova :mjlol:
Niccas stay rewriting history when it comes to Dipset , which is why I can tell the difference between who was actually bumping them during their prime and who got put on way after the fact . Anyways , just because niccas use the term "Street" doesn't mean we equatin it to instilling fear into one another or all lat other shyt , Most of us come from the streets it has nothing to do with being a certified goon it's just the environment your brought up in , ASAP buzz generated from Tumblr not from the streets of NYC niccas wasn't introducing me to ASAP I eventually found out about it on my own through someone post on Twitter (Live.Love.ASAP is a personal classic btw), Granted Dipset motivating factor was their swag , but they we're still street regardless of how you try to flip and bounce it , that was their main demographic that's where they emerged from before anything ... this recent hipster infatuation with dipset is really giving niccas amnesia of what it really was 10 plus years ago ... ASAP is great in their own right but they don't come from the same essence as Dipset at all , if I didn't look at soundscan I would have thought Diplomatic Immunity I went diamond just because of the burn and rotation it getting around me , I don't get that same feeling from ASAP and them , they didn't influence how we dressed and moved in NYC like Dipset did at all even till this very day you still see remnants of their influence lingering in NYC .

I can understand both sides of the argument. its honestly just about the changing of the guard in NY. I was at Yams day, and there was a healthy mix of everybody there. Street dudes, hipsters, white kids etc

I made a thread about this very same issue recently in a matter of fact. If you look at the opening clips of this video it shows you some of the kids that yams day brought out. I can understand if your from the bronx your view on NY may be a lil different. But NYC nowadays looks like this.

Kids 16-21 aint looking up to no Maino or 50 or Shae Davis. And if they are on that street shyt, its usually that knockoff drill shyt. If you a young fly regular black kid, 9 times out of 10 you fukking with the mob.

Edit: oh and I'm in Queens right now as I type this handling business. Just throwing that out there, b4 I get hit with the "bamma" comments or "town bidness" shyt lmao
Lol you making this a regional thing now? Ain't Rocky partially raised in the X and Twelvy from Castle Hill.

Both Coke Boyz and A$AP Mob can be likened to Dipset in they own ways.

No they couldn't. Asap are the closest thing to the 2010's Dipset. GBE, OVO & MMG output, talent & influence SHYTS on Coke boyz. Hell GS9 2 month run>>>>Coke Boyz.

wait since when do hipsters fukk with di[pset :dwillhuh:

Only hood nikkas and nothing but hood nikkas was rocking with dipset, except between 06-08 when Jim Jones basically became the face of the movement.

But If you ask me Bricksquad monopoly GBE and GS9 had a bigger impact across the country

nah, they were cool and i fukked with em but they were missing they key ingredient Dipset had..Dipset as a group and as individuals were captivating.
people knew of guys that never rapped like Brasi, Fat Shawn, Snagz, Tito...people not even remembering core members of Coke Boys.

and for the talk of Coke Boys/A$AP if you break Dipset down into parts then it both got their DNA in there (Yams was from Dipset stock and French soaked up the game) but then so does Bricksquad as Gucci and Flocka will tell you and then Keef/Reese/Fredo and them (still funny seeing Hell Rell randomly pop up in that Reese video)

French and Yams both they came from Dipset stock if you want to keep it

but i can't go into a Coke Boys thread without mentioning my favorite remix of theirs

they always fukked with Cam since Purple Haze. The Clipse and Jeezy too.
but they been fukking with Cam strong and lining his pockets lovely since 2010 thanks to tumblr.

Cam's became like a go to performer for Supreme and a few other brands.

Coke Boyz wasn't seen as dusty street nikka types like Maino or Shae Davis though. The average kid uptown 2009-2013 was fukking with the Coke Boyz movement heavy.

How does it make sense to compare labels like OVO and Maybach to Coke Boyz and Dipset? GS9 nowhere near Coke Boyz in impact musical output or quality if you know you know.

:russ::russ: The average street NY kid is not messing with A$AP like that. Ya conflating blipsters and the typical young black/rican kid out there. NYC blipsters represent a niche community. Them type of kids that was going down to cop ish from The Reed Space, ALIFE, and Coat of Arms were/are not typical kids in NYC. Even on the uptown tip I had friends who lived literally blocks away from Goliath and didn't know of its existence in its early years because the typical East side kids wasn't really interested in what Goliath was selling especially in them initial years. A black kid who is actually selling drugs, scamming, robbing cats is gonna be more comfortable in Jans then in Atmos.

Chinx got more love than his contemporaries who were from Harlem, you don't get automatic love cause you from Harlem cause if that was the case Smoke DZA or one of them RFC cats would be influential by now but instead Nymlo is just on Instagram making delusion post about his fashion influence :troll:

But anyway yeah CB had the city on fire, Chinx was essentially Juelz replacement in the city

:mjcry: That flow man.
