Dipset was connected & respected throughout the streets uptown.

They had like 3-5 spinoff/affiliated movements locally.

They were actually popular in places where people didn't even rock with NY'ers like that.

Lmao if you really want to play the "What If?" game Byrd Gang would have been bigger than Coke Boyz.

Imagine if Jimmy, Max and Stacks really were able to lock in for an extended period of time. Plus with Mel around some more creative people, he'd develop more as artist.

I dont think they wouldve been called Coke Boyz if Max was out... but Max and French definitely had a huge wave before Max got knocked which helped French end up being able to further himself and then with Chinx emerging afterwards they wouldve definitely been a force

Wasnt Max's movement Gain Greene or something like that? Al Pac wouldve been a part of it too
:hhh:

Yeah, but he had been out he would have been down with the movement :manny:

My point is that without all the street shyt and setbacks they would have been a united force.

Max was Byrd Gang before Coke Boyz, he was also "Gain Greene".
Chinx wasn't going to be a big star. He would have been doing his thing, but he wasn't generating that type of excitement.
The rest of those dudes? I couldn't pick them nyggaz out of a line-up.

The Bronx
Post Max B , they we're definitely on the verge of that same momentum , maybe not from a lyrical perspective , but style-wise in the city they we're Stack Bundles & Max successors on the low , they we're pumping out street anthems effortlessly for NYC from 2010 - 2012 , Every time I listen to Coke Boyz 1 - 3 it brings me back to when We Mobbin DVD was jumping and YGz & YBz was at it peak in dominance in the streets . Personally I think French signing with Bad Boy deterred Coke Boyz from maximizing what they could have been as a movement because you can tell his focus was else where after a while .. I agree with you though for the most part but niccas who don't live here gonna look at you like you crazy because they ain't witness it first hand like me & you .

Not true

So was Coke Boyz my argument isn't that they on Dips level my argument is that if they reached their full potential they could have reached a high level that's comparable and they have parallels.

It's telling that the last thing you mentioned was the quality of their music.
This thread is more about influence and impact. Music ain't a question they had anthems for days.

French and Max hook abilities is top notch, Chinx and Flip could spit. They production was top notch soulful, jazzy, and dark, they embraced the trap sound on some tracks, They killed remixes and worked with artists from all regions. They flipped 90's classics into fly modern shyt effortlessly.

Coke Boyz were consistent as hell musically they had very little bad songs.

Between Mac & Cheese series, Coke Waves, Cocaine Riots, Coke Boyz tapes they had a lot of good music.
