Yes just go ahead and derail your own idiotic thread

You aren't gonna discuss this thread topic seriously anyway, so why not answer my question? :umad:

Magic had 5 rings by the time Kobe was 9-10 years old, so Kobe never really had the weight of creating a dynasty, just the job of maintaining one. Kobe Bryant sits at the table with the all time greats and there's no disputing that, but it should be understood that Jordan is the one breaking the bread and passing it around to the rest.

:wtf:

The Lakers were a dynasty before Magic and the Lakers hadn't won a title in well over a decade when Kobe/Shaq finally won. Not to mention, without Kobe developing into the player he became there woulda been no continued success so if anything I'd say Kobe and Shaq had the weight of creating a dynasty too. Aside from that I don't disagree, it's just that we all get it. Why when someone does something great, does that man have to be brought up? nikkaz tired of Jordan, he ain't playin now so who gives a fukk just let the man sell his shoes and put a shytty basketball team on the court.

No, "nikkas" aren't tired of MJ, you're(and people like you) tired of him. I've already explained why.

Discuss seriously? I summed up the purpose of your thread, why you made it, and gave irrefutable analysis with one sentence, which you proceeded to ignore.

There you go, tuck that tail and slink away. You shouldn't have dignified the hate that caused you to make this thread. I get the socalled "point" that you're trying to make, I'm telling you that your point is invalid. Mike is the measuring stick because he's generally viewed as the best, stop crying and deal with it.

Breh, we're 3 pages in and this has actually been a productive discussion. You can either contribute or keep missing the point. I'm arguing that the overemphasis of this measuring stick has been detrimental to the sport because you can't re-create something like that ever.

Honestly, we do rankings incorrectly in basketball. It should be more like Boxing where we go by eras. Do you agree or disagree? Or are you gonna just keep callin me a Kobe stan? :skip:

this thread = Kobe groupies coming to terms with the fact that he will never eclipse Jordan as "that dude"

so obvious and pathetic

If Kobe wins 7 rings and passes Jordan in scoring(both possible) he'll eclipse Jordan to me, fukk a MVP...:yeshrug:

Maybe I'm just not indoctrinated in this psychotic Jordan worshipping like most.

*Waits for Kobe stan joke* :troll:

Kobe tries to be Jordan. Being compared to MJ motivates Kobe. He brought it on himself. Lebron is the best since, so people compare them. Rose just plays for chicago. He is nothing like MJ. Teenage bulls fans compare him to MJ.

Bottom line, jordan comparison=ratings so it will continue. Same reason this thread exists

Kobe dropped 33 on jordan as a teen and shattered his career high 6 years ago.

Stop it, jordans not even a top 5 player all time.

I messed up by not stating the fact that the Lakers had trophies before Magic as well, I was just trying to condense the history to a point and left out that fact. Having said that, I would say that Kobe and Shaq had to rebuild the dynasty, the foundation was already there with solid management.

Plus, once Kobe retires I think his career will be looked at more on its own rather than compared with Jordan's.

Plus it's a lot easier to be compared to ghosts than shadows, because in reality every player coming up that is worth a damn will always have Jordan's shadow cast over them.

Better question would be why are you in my business instead of discussing the topic? :ld:

Edit: A lot of these responses are proving my point too. I'm sure some of yall nikkaz would go out suicide bombing if somebody got on TV talkin this type of shyt right now.

You only consider the stuff you don't mind hearing as being productive to this discussion. I think that you're being dishonest by not acknowledging what I initially said. This is about you being a Kobe fan salty that he'll never be viewed as being as good as Mike. It's hard to take all that "gawd" crap seriously with MJ still being fresh in people's mind. All that stuff about players being measured against MJ being detrimental to the sport is nonsense. I haven't seen any intelligent explanation for why Kobe or Lebron being compared to MJ has been detrimental to the sport. You can argue that it's been detrimental to those guys as individuals but I wouldn't even agree with that. As far as Kobe, I think that his drive to be as good or better than MJ is we big reason for why he is as good as he is. Mike gave him a goal to shoot for. As far as Lebron, I don't see how any MJ comparisons are hurting him. It's actually a compliment to both guys to even have people seriously comparing them to Mike. He is the goat, after all.

Has more to do with how the media is than anything......

Players today are more harshly criticized than any other period.

Even during their time the greats were criticized, but upon winning those criticisms had to be erased.

Jordan was accused of being a ball hog early in his career (and never really changed his game, he just got better teamates).

Magic wasn't a great defender and got a coach fired.

Charles Barkley got into WAY more trouble than some players today do.

People tend to look at older players with rose colored glasses because of nostalgia.

What's the topic? Your mother was saying "fukk Michael JOrdan" 20 years ago.

Context may have been different though. :manny:
