The Truth
It’s lowkey becoming kind of big in IT, primarily because all of the major banks are located in the vicinity.
I heard this

I honestly had a job offer out there. I hear its a beautiful city with a strong middle class and black presence...

With that being said, I’m gonna give it a 9 due to the Charlotte Bobcats:scust:

It seems like on the coli if you go to the Charlotte forum- it's a beautiful city and full of things to do

If i go on LSA, charlotte is boring, no nightlife, is a poor version of Atlanta. No jobs market besides banking and finance and IT
Probably indicates that black women perceive Charlotte differently. They may value things like “eligible” mates and nightlife (for IG) more

How do you compare Charlotte to Raleigh?

I'm stuck between the 2

Live in Raleigh, have lived in Charlotte...

There is nothing to compare, I can't think of a single thing I like better in Raleigh than Charlotte. Raleigh is gonna lose a head to head 9/10, just trust me on this, you want Charlotte instead...

I give Charlotte an 8. My only real issues with it:

•CMPD (local police) has a reputation as racist...
•there is a lot to do, but most things to do in Charlotte are concentrated in Center City. There isn't a lot of variety of where to go outside of that...
•not a lot of interesting architecture or neighborhoods...
•after awhile you can get bored there, again it's probably because there isn't a lot of popping districts/neighborhoods outside of Uptown...
•overwhelmingly suburban, very little urbanity outside Center City...

And I'm no longer in the lifestyle, but I've been few places as snitch-infested as Charlotte. This is widely known to cats running the streets out there, and I got snitched on myself out there....this wouldn't be a factor if I lived there again, but just in case anybody is thinking of going to Charlotte on some criminal shyt, you've been warned...

Other than that, QC is fantastic and I'd LOVE to live there again!

Too much to like about it. I honestly gotta say it was the highlight of my 20s, I was there in my age 24 and 25 years. Dating is easy as fukk there, GOAT-level sisters, and there's a TON of educated sisters and sisters with money there. There's also a large black middle and upper class there, blacks have a presence politically and culturally to a level most places don't have...

One of the top places I got laid ever...

But more than that it's an excellent place to raise a family. It really isn't a dangerous city at all, its crime is high for Carolina standards, but a grip of similarly-sized cities have much worse violent crime rates. There's a couple spots it gets really active at, but most of the "hoods" in Charlotte are suburbs...

The black violent crime rates is much lower than most big cities, which is important because I'd have two black daughters I'd raise out there...

All in all, the ship has probably sailed on me living there again, but I'd recommend to anyone...

Can't wait for the Raleigh thread lol...

Raleigh is top of my list to relocate. Mainly job reasons. Raleigh durham is like top 5 when it comes to Biotech/Life sciences companies.

Life Sciences | Research Triangle Regional Partnership

Wake county schoools seem to rank pretty well too. Feels good when you can look on Niche and see a school ranked A and it's not 90 percent white. The only negative I see are the lack of pro sports. But man, being able to move around between Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, etc is a huge plus.

Nah I get it. Triangle is preferable for some people...

Personally I'm not attracted to the cities here, Durham is overrated and Cary and Chapel Hill are white towns...

Raleigh is okay, it's not fukking with Charlotte though as an overall lived experienc .

@REdefinition charlotte being built up for people who aren’t from Charlotte is what most cities are going through.

it’s happening here in NY and DC. Most of the people paying 3K a month for a studio are people who are not originally from here.

Same shyt happening in Columbia SC too.

As for rating Charlotte. A lot of my family lives there coming up from SC and some have moved from NYC so I'll give it an 8. My fam described Charlotte as being "3 hours from everywhere" by car or by plane.

Of course the ATL
It’s cool...went to college in Greensboro, I’ve been back to Charlotte a few time since then. The Atlanta comparisons are unfortunate because Charlotte just isn’t Atlanta, not as big or dynamic. But it has a lot of other things going for it, nice sized black middle class, big city feel with a small town vibe, a couple pro teams. If Atlanta is a 10, Charlotte is a solid 8. Good city to raise a family in too
