Charlotte, Boston, and San Diego are my top 3 destinations if I were to move out of NYC

Charlotte is DMV part 2. They play hella gogo in all the clubs and lounges.

Visually, Charlotte is Baby Atlanta:

Same hills, pines, Appalachians to the west.
Same older historic neighborhoods with Southern architecture..

Same Historical Mill towns.

Same gentrifying inner ring neighborhoods.

Same hipster cacs.

Same loop around the city(ATL has 285, Charlotte has 485).

I-85 runs through both cities.

Same NY/DMV/Philly/Boston transplants mixed with transplants from smaller Southern towns.

ATL and Charlotte are similar as much as two cities in two diffirent states can ever be.

:dame: I don't understand Charlotte

it was hyped up to me to be a "black" Mecca:blessed:

It just seems to be trying to hard to be Atlanta:comeon:

I think that's how a lot of Southern Cities suffer/ instead of capitalizing on what they have, they struggle to attract businesses and transplants, and desire to be a city like Atlanta which often time their city their infrastructure isn't designed for. Not saying ATL is all that btw:hubie:

Used to live in Charlotte for about 4 years and I currently live in Atlanta. I can’t agree with your analysis on Charlotte. It doesn’t try to be like Atlanta, it’s not like Atlanta, and it’s not a black “Mecca”.

This is no shade to Atlanta because I love it here. But I feel like Charlotte is in a better position with their growth and development than Atlanta is.

"it was hyped up TO ME" :umad: as a black Mecca, whether it is or not is left to one's own interpretation.

Many southern cities with healthy "black" populations are totted as such.

While I stayed there, everyone used to talk to me about going to Atlanta:deadrose:

it was a Atl's lil brother.

People talked about going to Atlanta because Charlotte isn’t a “black Mecca” like I said. Matter fact the city is actively trying to avoid that title with the way they wanted to get CIAA out of town.

Nobody can stop the black side of Charlotte man lol. We are here and nothing can be done about it. CIAA has not been what it was when I got here and I think it was extra bad last year because all star weekend was here. I don’t think people are that mad about it leaving really cause a lot of folks are thinking it will be back at some point if not in Charlotte maybe in Raleigh. Charlotte ain’t Atlanta no doubt but they’re doing ok.

You’re missing my point completely.

CLT is quickly transitioning into a black mecca.

Charlotte gets a lot of transplants and attracts businesses... In fact, Atlanta based Suntrust is moving their HQ to Charlotte.

Sparking blunts in the shade.
I’ve been here for a few days and I think it’s beautiful. From what I’ve been told by family friends who live here is it’d be perfect for someone in my position(early thirties, sbo, single and focused on quality over quantity). I see how my current business and also the businesses I’m going to build in the next few years can thrive here. I love how it’s a relatively large city with a suburban feel. I’d have to have feet on ground for longer than a few days to say this for certain but it seems like a great place raise a family... With that said I haven’t seen one fine woman here.:why:

My people here keep telling me that the city is teeming with beautiful, 20-30 somethings. Who range from professional to artsy but I haven’t seen the proof.

granted as my play cousin said “nikka, half of these women got masks on, don’t let corona make you miss out on what’s here:martin:

Are there any CLT residents here that can back this up?
