Xbox has been around 4 generations now, how can you say that is the case when new 1st party games have been being made the entire time? And the xb1 was the only generation where it's been the weakest.Because despite what you guys say, each generation there's new IPs being made that ADD to the overall library so the argument doesn't work the way you think it does.
You can't say Sony drops the same IPs each generation with a straight face with nothing new.
We can go back to PS1 to now and I'm sure the list of Sony franchises is WAY longer than if you go back to the original Xbox and compare it to today.
When PS4 was coming out, I didn't expect Horizon, Ghosts of Tsushima, Bloodborne, Dreams, Detroit, TLG, Spider-Man and a few other exclusives that dropped.
If it was just like Xbox, all we'd have for PS4 is Uncharted 4, God of War, Killzone and Infamous yet we got that PLUS more.
How can you not get it?
Where as PS has been around 5 generations and only with the last 3 years or the last generation did new 1st party really jump off, imagine if sony didn't purchase insomniac in 2019 and sucker punch in 2011
In a nut shell you are saying, sony bought some studios that dropped some 1st party piff at the end of the last generation that supplemented what they are already dropping. It took sucker punch till the end of the gen for GOT, it took gurrilla to the end of the gen for Horzion, bloodborne dropped at the start of the generation, Detroit isn't from 1st party "technically"
So Sony similar to microsoft this gen, purchased some companies that were great gets, and didn't/wont have much to show until later....
Xbox had a weak gen last year as far as hard hitting new exclusives, but it's nuts to say they just release the same thing over and over again when the biggest games to come out of sony are from there purchased studios which they started doing earlier than Microsoft and better.
