Rappers use ignorant ass wordplay and punchlines in rap? You don’t say. :ohhh:

Bruh the tone of your post is like you are taking it personal.
I mentioned young people (teens mainly) and I even brought up it isn't the only factor but a contributing one.
No one is saying you can't listen to it or it needs to be banned but you have to acknowledge that it can be influential. I grew up listening to gangsta rap and still do
Honestly a lot of you dudes problems on here come from treating this like we're face to face or you're reading a book. There is no tone in typed words unless you make an assumption of my voice saying the words to you in said tone.

I agree it could be a factor but that factor to me is soo far down it isn't worth mentioning. Before you get to that one factor there is way more bigger ones like parenting and dudes just out right being flunkies. You grew up listening to this stuff and have you done any of the wild stuff they talking about regarding killing, selling drugs, other illegal things? That's my point most of us were teenagers and listened to similar music and didn't do this stuff. I can be influenced on things like clothes or something like that but doing some next stuff nah. That's like saying dudes going to see that lil Nas x video and are going to be influenced to start dropping low on other dudes. If they are it was already something they were thinking about this just gave them the final push. That's how I look at this music stuff.

And mind you, this is back when dudes like Eazy E and Ice T weren't actually that good at rapping and we're pretty much just talking over beats and saying fukked up shyt. No type of art or skill to it.
You haven't listened to Ice-T's music.

I think y’all and comparing apples to oranges

what da baby did and what people do in there raps are two different things

Da baby went on a rant about gays stereo typing them with a disease and shyt

that’s completely different from someone on a verse saying my nikkas on the block ready to lay shyt down type shyt
This. People want to be keyboard activist warriors so bad they lose grip with logic and end up not making any sense.

I hate this argument because they are not talking about people they are cool with.
they are talking about people they have issues with.

People caped for that shyt only to find out most of the nikkas rapping wasn't even about that.:unimpressed:

Yep look at what happened to late 80s-early 90s rap. Gangsta rap won out over Public Enemy, BDP, Tribe, etc. and largely because 80% of the market was white kids who wanted music that would piss their parents off more than tranny looking hair bands screaming about Satan

"I call it KKK because my choppa hates nikkas" :pachaha:

Funny how Thecoli is quick to call brothers c00ns over the slightest disagreements, but act as a shield over rappers who have been c00ning it up for a cheque.
I hear you. This argument works on a lot of dudes but how about those it doesn't work on? I don't go around screaming c00n over any disagreement. Hell I almost exclusively use it only to say dudes on here overuse it. When that's the case what is the defense then when the easy target isn't so easy to say is a hypocrite?

I don't blame the rappers, because most of them are just puppets and slaves to the industry. I mostly blame the cacs that pulling their strings behind the scenes because they love profiting off black trauma.
Come on breh, there has to be some accountability here. This is a cop out like a mafukka.

Quote me some dope Ice T bars, cuz I'm tired of y'all trying to sell him to me like he was Nas or some shyt :rudy:

Ice T ain’t a lyricist (and he’d probably be the first person to tell you that) and I’m not even a big fan of his music, but he’s one of the few rappers who used gangsta rap to educate people rather than to be on some exploitive shock value shyt. He was also doing at a time when gangsta rap was way less popular and profitable as it ended up being.

And Nas is my favorite rapper but honestly his mafioso drug kingpin phase was way more problematic than anything Ice T did as far as the premise of your thread

I’m so glad somebody fucced up and brought up MC Eiht in this topic.

MC Eiht might lead the Rap League in deaths on wax per capita. Lol

...but AT LEAST he was balanced. In every (and I mean EVERY) MC Eiht first-person story rap,
he took an L. He either died, got arrested, or something else where he - the “bad guy” - lost.
So it is intellectually dishonest for Genius (or anybody else) to pull up a few MC Eiht bars to sum up
MC Eiht’s whole character or belief system as an artist or person.

That's my point Ice Tea is a bad example for this

and the Cop Killer song is still banned, it ain't even on spotify, they took off all the album releases after 92

blacks don't control what is released and what's not it is what its

They let c00n shyt like MC EIHT and Future to come out, but Cop Killer which ain't even rap song is still banned and its almost been 30 years
It might be banned but it isn't banned everywhere. I just checked the song is on YouTube.
