Crispness
Ice-t always had a message in his music.
the ending in most of his tales ended with
jail or death.

Yep...and he’s not the only.

But this doesn’t matter because Tipper Gore, Oprah, etc., don’t listen to entire Rap songs
to see what happens at the end of them or get the whole message. They do what other people
did in this thread: extract 4 bars from the song out of context and focus on that - which were
probably provided to them by somebody else.

First of all you shouldn't be taking it so personal to where you got to rant off like you did here. Take the emotion out and look at it from a logical standpoint.
Music is our most influential form of entertainment and is much more digestible. Young people damn near worship musicians and are easily influenced by what they say. Not saying it is the sole reason but is a contributing factor along with other elements like environment depending on what it is.
Internet jokers still using these dumb talking points. How can I take it personal when none of this stuff applies to me? Y'all gotta stop saying things just because like defective robots. I'm posting just like you no more no less. Maybe you don't some of the words I used but that isn't a sign esp typed of taking it personal smfh.

As far as your post you don't own the patent for logical my man. Its cool you disagree but spare me the logical claims. Most of us listened to the same music and weren't involved in none of this crazy stuff but I'm being illogical? Come on my man. I'm not saying it isn't any factor but a big one nah. If it is your parents have failed you big time sorry. That's why I can't ever get with this coli conservative stance on this topic. I treat this rap stuff like movies as entertainment.

It’s s disingenuous argument cause never in be history of rap has there been ever been a song about killing Black people.

There’s been songs that tell both fictional and truth-based stories about killing of people who happen to be Black.

But nobody’s every made a song on some KKK rap shyt like “I kill Black people cause they’re Black.”

"I call it KKK because my choppa hates nikkas" :pachaha:

Funny how Thecoli is quick to call brothers c00ns over the slightest disagreements, but act as a shield over rappers who have been c00ning it up for a cheque.

I fukk with NWA way more than Ice T but Ice is one of the few gangsta rappers that can legit use the “I’m just a reporter for the hood” argument. Like with his songs there was a clear lesson and they were more about him explaining what was going on rather than exploiting it

NWA’s music on the other hand lost any political or moral value once Cube left. nikkaz4life is one of the best produced albums of all time but the lyrics, especially the second half is pure shock value nonsense. The only possible justification they can use is that they were parodying what everyone was saying about gangsta rap at the time by embracing all the criticisms

Bruh the tone of your post is like you are taking it personal.
I mentioned young people (teens mainly) and I even brought up it isn't the only factor but a contributing one.
No one is saying you can't listen to it or it needs to be banned but you have to acknowledge that it can be influential. I grew up listening to gangsta rap and still do

@Dusty Bake Activate is getting roasted but I honestly do understand the argument he’s making. Yes, it’s important to look at the context and intent behind the lyrics, like are Black rappers saying it because they legit hate Black people or are they just trying to make a shock value punchline. And yes, when it comes to homicide and murder whether white or Black, it’s primarily done by people of the same race who live in close proximity to each other

But, you also gotta dig a little deeper. No, I don’t think Black rappers who rap about killing other Black people actively hate Black people. But I do think the nonchalant way they talk about killing other Black people suggests that whether consciously or not, they devalue Black lives to the point where it doesn’t bother them when they rap about it. Now the reason for that attitude can be debated but the point is the attitude is there, and to me that’s the biggest problem that needs to be addressed. Like what brought you to the point where you can make a three minute song about killing nyggas and it doesn’t seem to bother you in the slightest

Edit*

At this point, IDK whether to laugh or shake my head @ the cognitive dissonance of dudes bringing up why nobody cares about rappers rapping about killing us and saying the n-word, while at the same time answering their own question by defending those same lyrics/rappers.:francis:
