Ice T ain’t a lyricist (and he’d probably be the first person to tell you that) and I’m not even a big fan of his music, but he’s one of the few rappers who used gangsta rap to educate people rather than to be on some exploitive shock value shyt. He was also doing at a time when gangsta rap was way less popular and profitable as it ended up being.

And Nas is my favorite rapper but honestly his mafioso drug kingpin phase was way more problematic than anything Ice T did as far as the premise of your thread

Which is what I originally said in the OP. So why y'all keep quoting me on this ? @FeverPitch2 @TEH :dahell::dahell::dahell:

@Dusty Bake Activate is getting roasted but I honestly do understand the argument he’s making. Yes, it’s important to look at the context and intent behind the lyrics, like are Black rappers saying it because they legit hate Black people or are they just trying to make a shock value punchline. And yes, when it comes to homicide and murder whether white or Black, it’s primarily done by people of the same race who live in close proximity to each other

But, you also gotta dig a little deeper. No, I don’t think Black rappers who rap about killing other Black people actively hate Black people. But I do think the nonchalant way they talk about killing other Black people suggests that whether consciously or not, they devalue Black lives to the point where it doesn’t bother them when they rap about it. Now the reason for that attitude can be debated but the point is the attitude is there, and to me that’s the biggest problem that needs to be addressed. Like what brought you to the point where you can make a three minute song about killing nyggas and it doesn’t seem to bother you in the slightest
The 2nd paragraph I totally agree with.

Regarding the first paragraph, I was saying just rebut the narrative that somehow the DaBaby situation was analogous because so many posters were saying people are getting at him over the gay shyt but not his raps about killing Black people.

I was just making the point that that is apples and oranges because there will always be a different reaction to anything disparaging said or done to target a group just because they are of that group.

Also, a lot of people don’t like to hear this but when a group of people condone certain shyt amongst each other, it’s human nature for others to be like :manny: So you can’t expect whites, or Mexicans, Jews or anyone else to take up the mantle of holding rap accountable when the Black fanbase that elevates the artists condones all of it.

I've experimented with this.
Bring up white drug addict dopefiend 90-150k a year fentanyl deaths in comparison to 40% of 15,000 shootings and they will juelz, cry, and/or try to MURDER YOU.
It's not human nature for others to be like anything.
The same can be said for EVERY GROUP you mentioned, they all have a nasty
fentanyl
child molestation
and violence against vulnerable victims issue in ALL of those communities.

Black men are the only men that kill mostly MEN. :hubie:
White men (both jewish and non jewish)
Hispanic men (both native and white)
Lead in those types of murders. (Children, women, elderly)
So does a small portion of the black community, but that's for another post and another day.

Why can't we do both?
Not saying we can't but I think boycotting killing each other in real life makes music about it not so important, correct? The issues that people see with the music is that they believe it is affecting real life. If it's not happening in real life then why would anybody care?

The problem is that this media is projecting a terrible image of the community. It's not entertainment at this point, it's propaganda.

Negroes are rapping about selling drugs, gang banging, comparing themselves to the kkk because they hate negroes, running trains on women and all other sorts of demonic activity and yet these companies aren't backing off

cardi b and megan thee stallion can literally encourage whoredom and they get put on magazine covers and celebrated

da baby can literally walk around in a diaper, kill black men, and knock out black men and no company bats an eye. Nobody says nothing... Here is a lyric from Def Loaf's try me:
I really hate nikkas I'm a Nazi
Love wearin' all black, you should see my closet

I don't blame the rappers, because most of them are just puppets and slaves to the industry. I mostly blame the cacs that pulling their strings behind the scenes because they love profiting off black trauma.
Who puts a gun to a person’s head, makes them want to be a rapper, makes them write the lyrics, record it, etc? Why is it so got damn hard for us to take accountability for shyt???
