Like you said, the only reason they ever got out of the second round was because of the Westbrook injury.

Z-Bo and Conley are probably the only players in the league who don't shyt for playing like ass in the playoffs.
They shoulda beat OKC in 5 this past year

Based on what?

Zbo who was shooting 45% TS was supposed to save them in a game 7 in OKLAHOMA? Like he did in 2011 when KD dropped 39 to close out the series along with a Westbrook Triple double, AGAIN? We put those dudes in a coffin like we usually do.

In 2014 Gasol, Randolph and Conley all shot below 49% TS. Even Tony Allen shot 53% TS for the series, when Tony Allen scores better than 3 of your premier players you know they struggled.

Got sonned at home in an elimination game 6,when they had their chance to win.

Don't even need to explain game 7.:wow:

Courtney's a solid role player for the Grizz... just like Danny Green and Gary Neal are/were for the Spurs. At the end of the day, they still are/were Danny Green and Gary Neal, but point is they were role players who could excel in spurts within their team's system.
Keyword: Role player.

That's all he is, yet currently he's the Grizzlies #2 option on the perimeter, whereas Danny Green was the #4 option for the Spurs. Yet you're telling me Memphis' need for a wing who can 'create off the dribble' is overstated when they only have ONE guard/wing that can create his shot?

:usure:

I'd say SA won b/c of some unprecedented 3 point shooting and ball movement.. but to your point, Memphis has one but they also have 2 bigs with back-to-the basket games that demand attention. And with that trio, they've been everywhere from a coin flip 7 game series with OKC (unfortunate with the zbo suspension) to a WCF appearance (fortunate with the westbrook injury). So i feel their team is more than capable of making a deep run with what they have and would be a tough out for GS or Dallas.
Spurs also won because they had THREE wing stars throughout the playoffs that come through when they needed them to. Memphis' chances are all on Conley to come through, and judging by his past playoff performances, things don't look too bright. Memphis have the front-court scoring covered, ain't no doubt about that, it's what little they have behind them that's the problem.
Well, every team but san antonio has failed to get over that same wall so...
it's why i still have SAS as the favorites to get out the west.

But why has every team failed to get over that 'wall'? And what have those teams done to best improve their chances of getting over it? Memphis hasn't added any significant wing pieces nor has any of their role players taken their games to a new level that would warrant a suggestion that they didn't need one.

Dallas, OKC and GS either have their stars nearing their primes or/and have added enough talent to their rosters to compete.
I partly agree... as basketball iq + defense (like with the spurs) goes along way when facing youthful and talented teams, like they've shown against the GS, Clips, Portland, and OKC. Or like the Grizz have shown vs a couple of those same teams.

Problem is Grizz don't have enough offensive talent to compliment their defense.
I ain't a Memphis fan so i'm not hell bent on defending them but i'd say right now SAS, GS, Grizz, and Mavs are the top 4 teams and I feel any combo of those matchups would end up going 7... with the exception of SAS bc of their experience/craftiness. If you disagree, cool. It'll all be answered in April/May regardless.

Trey Burke's having another solid game after his horrendous start to the season. Utah cut a 19 point halftime deficit to six in the third. :leon:

Grizz blew Game 4 at home

They win Game 5 at OKC

Game 6 isn't necessary if Reggie Jackson's fluke shot don't go in

Strong "luck shot". Reggie shot 48% from 3 in that series and was cooking that entire game.

Just like OKC Blew most of the OTs?

Game 5 isn't necessary if Butler was inserted into the lineup before game 6.

Brooks is a lesser coach than Joerger

Joerger will outcoach him next time they matchup.
Just like in he did in 2014, right? Too bad Rivers didn't outcoach Brooks in the 2nd round either.

How do you lose to Durant playing like trash, Westbrook shooitng 46% TS, Thabo and Perkins playing the worse ball they have ever played in their careers, and expect to beat them the next year?

Cause the defense of MEM is still there

And Joerger is growing as an NBA coach. He's won everywhere else too

Yo word?

You act like OKC's Offense and Defense disappeared? Most likely our defense and offense will be better than last year.
