Today was the gold standard. Got in by 5:02am and wrapped up my upper day by 6:30am.

There’s a big difference getting in at 5am vs 5:30am.

Also, we’ve seen the last rains of the season so back to glorious weather this weekend.

Soccer on Saturday and cycling on Sunday :blessed:

I love getting to bed early and waking up with enough time to hit 20-25 on the tread at home before hitting the gym. Super clutch on leg day because I feel like I get warmed up quicker at the gym. I need that at my :flabbynsick: age
I feel like the most ideal training model is knocking out the fasted cardio in the morning and then just focus on lifting in the evening. Looking forward to the weather warming up so I can get back to this routine.

I feel like there was a study that supported lifting later in the day.

Doesn’t work for me but my weekend sessions are better because I lift closer to 10:30am than 6:30am.

Probably has to do w/ getting a few meals in first.

I know most bodybuilders from the golden age would train twice a day. Fasted cardio in the morning when glycogen is depleted , enhance fat burning. Then get a few meals in to fuel evening/afternoon lifting.

I think it was also something out body temp or basically your body being fully awake and primed.

Just wrapped up leg day. Very intense one at that.

6 sets of heavy squats
5 sets of heavy DLs
3 sets of heavy leg presses

No time to do accessory lifts because I got in quite late today. Went to watch Captain America last night with some extended co-workers (movie is mid, slept off in it)

But Friday is WFH so not really tripping

Even threw in some calf raises @Remote :lolbron:

Definitely this but for me, if I push lifting to the evening there’s a risk I may have to skip it.

The past 8 weeks I’ve been going to the gym/working out in the morning M-F without fail. Rather the consistency even if some of my lifts aren’t as intense.

Calf exercises are like forearm exercises.

Nobody ever needs to do them. They'll grow just fine from doing all your regular shyt.

Unless you have like...horrific genetics (and you don't) or you're bodybuilding at the highest levels...there's never a good reason to focus on them.

Ever.

But you're a G.

:ehh:

My next leg day is Monday.

Consistently over everything. The best plan is always the one you can adhere to the most.
