You also have to account for the fact he did it as a living as opposed to a a casual lifter.I've seen this before. Still not something that has been scientifically proven. How can you objectively measure shock? What he described doesn't really sound like shock to me, but simply not doing the same damn workout with the same weight continuously.
I would have thought that block programming, autoregulation, progressive overload, etc. would be enough to "shock" the muscle but Arnold is the GOAT so .
