It's dependent on where you are too. I was paying 70 a month in NYC and it was a good deal
My gym now is in the sticks and people are complaining about them going to like 30 a month with all new equipment

Then join one of them bare bones gyms, $40 isn't a lot at all for a gym membership. 24 has its issues - a lot of locations are run down - but between having more locations than those $10 gyms and offering classes, pools, saunas, etc, you get more.
