not really seeing the hype behind foam rolling :francis:

stretching more often + yoga once a week + my monthly massage seems to work better than the whole rolling thing.

Would light weights/high reps be more appropriate while on a weight loss regiment?

I don’t want to add any mass I but I love lifting. I’m more focused on dropping pounds.

Should i leave out weight lifting all together until I reach my weight goal?

Someone else can give you better expert advice but I would say not to give up weight lifting. As far as the low weights and high rep thing, I don't think it matters. It's all about calories in and calories out. If you're eating more than maintenance and lifting heavy, then yeah you'll build mass. But you can't build muscle if there's nothing to build with. Calories, protein, carbs, etc. are all things your body consumes thru food and beverage, and all are what help build muscle and fat. Look at the diets of people who lift heavy. Tons of food in their diet. So I would worry about your calories and adjust the weight on your lifts accordingly.

I don't know how some of you do it but getting used to this new gym schedule sure is difficult. I commend you do that do it. I've gone from a retail job where I was mostly working from 4 or 5 to midnight into a job with regular 9 to 5 hours. Completely different gym experience now. I used to go around 12 or 1 in the afternoon and everything would be great. Low crowds, abundance of weights, relaxed workouts. Now that I gotta go in the evenings, it's a completely different animal. It's like you gotta improvise your workouts more. Like the other day I went for leg day and the squat racks were all taken, even the Smith machine. Had to change things up and use the machines and do some death marches. Did a bit of arms also just to get more in. Anything to get some work done. It's like you gotta find different ways to exercise when the resources are limited. Plus the time is limited since you want to hurry and get done. It's a different workout feel. But I gotta make the best of it.

No keep the weights heavy. Why are you focused on raw body weight instead of body composition? :jbhmm:

For me personally, I can't do super heavy stuff. But I work in a range of rep ranges. So in a bulk I will do squats for 3x10 one day, and 3x5 with more weight another day. When I'm cutting I do the same 3x10 both days. Def don't stop lifting.

Explain the difference. Kind of new to all this all I know is cardio
Body composition just means the ratio of muscle to fat that your body holds. You can weigh more than someone and be healthier (even appear thinner) than them because your body composition is better.

My goal is to always be improving body composition. :manny:
