how heavy are yall lifting to need 1-5 minutes between sets? and at how many reps? i guess i can't comprehend this, i've never been a heavy lifter. i lift a challenging weight for 15-20 reps in back to back sets, a heavy day for me is a weight that i can only do for 8-10 reps and i'm still only taking 15 secs, 30 secs max, between sets.
Chill.... On leg days it's no problem for me to take 10 minutes or more between sets. I wish I could do that for upper body but I have too much to do. Even with that I take 2-3 minutes between sets on compounds. The growth :steviej:

For me it’s a safety concern. I do zercher squats so my arms can get slippery

Really depends on target rep range for the workout. But usually when I’m going for 3s - 1s and I hit 85%+ of 1RM range I’m taking a few mins between sets.

These muthafukkas this morning:

Deadlift in front of the rack even when there is a DL platform.

Come back later hog another rack to 10 supersets of back Squats and good mornings with bytch weight.

Who the fukk gets to the gym before 8:30AM and needs to get dressed to work out?

Take up valuable space getting dressed to work out while people are trying to get to work.

I almost always take about a minute and a half or a little more between sets. No way I can put up max effort on my sets if I only waited 15 seconds.

Yup. You're asking for an injury if you're treating max effort lifts the way you treat circuit training with the rest periods

The hardest thing about losing weight and gaining muscle... is trying to gauge your new size in clothes :snoop:

This is the truth. Xl clothes fits right most of the time for me but other times it's too tight in the arms and chest. I normally have to stick to XXL outerwear but sometimes it's just too big.

After about two weeks of not lifting I was able to get back and see where I'm at. Only thing that went down significantly was my bench but that's mainly because I hurt my shoulder trying to behind the neck press too much weight in October.

Its saddening going from benching 315 to having to struggle putting up 5 reps of 225 today. I use to be able to bang out 20 of those no problem. :mjcry::to::sadbron:

I really don't get the cycling studio craze, any box gym has cycling classes, yes instructors can be variable, but with trial and error you'll find an instructor you like. if you wanted to spin twice a week as your cardio you're dropping $60 bucks at these spots? :dahell: plus you may still encounter an instructor you don't like or wack music.

I'm not dropping $200+ a month on fukking cardio :comeon:, and only one type of cardio at that. at that rate I'm either at a comprehensive upscale gym (i.e. Equinox), or doing some sort of (group) personal training or bootcamp/crossfire that's really going to push me/improve my physique.

I'm actually kinda puzzled over the whole specialized fitness craze in general - Pilates and yoga made sense, but now one place for spinning, one dedicated to rowing, another dedicated to trx, barre, wtf? :mindblown: *opens a power walking studio*

Classpass really is the best compromise - get a genetic box gym membership for $10-50/month and throw in a 5 or 10 class classpass.
