Honestly sometimes you just got step in a and apply some pressure.Just one of the chain gyms.
There are no real serious gyms in the NY area unless you go to Queens/Brooklyn or way, way upstate.
90% of the gyms in tri-state area are either Planet Fitness/NYSC, etc... or Crossfit
There is a guy at my gym that does these wide ranging circuits that might have 3-4 stations. Last week he was supersetting deads with the rowing machine, basically had the DL platform of and on for no real reason. I nicely asked if I could add another bar and work in. He was cool with it.
