I was comfortably benching 205 flat Sunday and figured that I'd just add the extra 20 and make it a regular 225...NOPE...

Some breh working out making the most noise breathing and making grimaces in the mirror was pretending to not see me asking him for help getting the bar off my chest :mjlol:

I just tipped one side over and in the process of getting it off the nikka tried to just hop over the bar like I was in his way (he was on the opposite side of the weight area) and ended up falling on his face. Fam really tried to start some shyt too :pachaha:

I'm just going to hit heavy bench weights on the smith from the floor...I did it Sunday and it worked :manny: especially since I don't have a lifting partner.

:mjlol:

Some guy was benching 160 kg today (a little over 350 lbs) with a spotter, and failed, spotter couldn't get it up either. Completely their fault because you should know when to stop, especially at those weights, and the spotter was a guy who didn't really know how to spot. Was still :lupe: though, me and another guy ran over and got the bar up on the pins.

I hate when MFers turn lifting into a team sport :wtb: The bar never lies :sas1:

:whoa::whoa::whoa::whoa::whoa:

Breh if theres one thing Ive learned in this game...... its to keep those jumps as small as possible. I dont put more than 5lbs on bench at a time, 20lb is :damn:

:lupe: I was gonna try and make that same jump

You saved me breh:whew: Fucc that

Eh, it's not a crazy jump. But obviously it depends on how and when you do it. If you've done all your regular sets first and then add that afterwards, it'll definitely be difficult because you're fatigued already.

I agree on small jumps being better in general though (if you're not doing big big weights; the percentage you jump might be more relevant than the absolute weight jump).

Exactly.

If I ask for a spot I always explicitly tell them to stay the fukk away from the bar completely until I tell them to touch it (lightly) or the extremely unlikely case that I'm stuck and can't talk.

See the thing is I've seen people attempt shyt purely for ego knowing they shouldn't be attempting it but I would still help them when the time arose. We were the only two people in the gym and he was pretending to not hear or see me :mjlol:

Luckily I knew to leave the clips off so I had it. Having a good spotter is key...they're only there to keep you from dying...and to give you a peace of mind that enables you to focus.

I did it at the end of my sets for benching. So yeah.

Can happen to the best of us, and especially in this case he should've just helped you. :wow:

I've done a big jump after my regular sets on the bench once, only because a friend (big guy) urged me to, and I failed after one or two reps too. Didn't get stuck but still. :hamster:

I mean if u are throwing up 3 plates with sides u should know what ur limits are. That is the shyt that gets MFers killed :damn:

I dont put clips on the barbell either just in case.

Where are u located? I have a rackable one from Black Widow that I haven't touched in months. I'm in Charlotte. Don't want to ship it and I am gonna get washed locally.
