:rudy: bend your knees for your backs sake....

Saw so much bad form today. I should become a PT, just looking at all the potential clients who fukk up their back doing deadlifts and squats. The ones with the really bad form usually have belts too, like that's going protect them :mjlol:

I don't even own a weight lifting belt :yeshrug:

Not mad at anyone who has/uses one its just my belief that if my technique falters and I ended up in snap city a belt is just gonna hold me in place during the trip. Plus I'd hate to become reliant on it in case I ever needed to use deadlift power in a real life scenario

"I will help lift this garbage can off your crushed foot sir but first I must adjust my trusty weight belt"

I have no back issues and I squat 3x and deadlift 2x a week during my current split

I feel about the same. If I'm going heavy enough to cause the technique to falter then I need to lower the weight.

Then again I only care about strength for the function of lifting heavier to benefit gains. If my numbers aren't "impressive" :manny:

We're too cool for lifting belts now?
I dont know what these nikkas talkin bout mayne. I love my belt. Intra-abdominal pressure protects and stabilizes the spine, and belts are only a danger if u have high blood pressure (in which case u shouldnt be lifting anyway :childplease: ). But to each their own :mido:

Been lifting heavy for years, never remotely had an injury...

Stretching, warming up, cooling down, and good form >>>>>

Trust me the same people I see in the gym with belts are the same ones, who always go all the way back, while doing deadlifts heavy, like it's a back exercise :snoop:.
Then usually they'll give me some sob story about being in PT as well :mjlol:
