When I think of Forever there's no songs I wanna run and listen to, but I can think of many joints on 36 Chambers I wanna hear right now. I don't think Forever has the highs of other wu classics. It's just consistently good.

Half the album is shytting directly on vultures like Vlad, of course he's hating.

Same reason he hates on vets like Cube and Nas, there's a pattern.

no its not.

the album is shytting on other rappers.

"vultures" like Vlad are the ones who hold up wutang's legacy actually.

and if they dont mess with vultures like Vlad, then why do they sit on his couch??:jbhmm:

All vlad really said was that Nas’ rhymes are far too good for mediocre beats.

He definitely has some kind of weird “beef” with ice cube tho. Like, he’s somehow personally offended that cube is a family man that went to college instead of a natural born killer

I get that “real rap” fans thought it was disappointing because it wasn’t 100% like their last album but…it’s a great album and easily the best rap double album IMO. There are duds on the album but overall there are maybe 4-5 tracks I don’t like. That’s amazing for a double LP…

Rae will never admit it but RZA was right. Rae was THAT dude after Forever dropped. He did so many crazy features after that, including hanging with Nas and Pun on the same track. Yet when it was time to drop an album he dropped a dud and it ruined his career for years. What happens if Rae was humble enough to get RZA to do his CL follow up in 1998, fresh off the Forever success?
great point. Rae was hot off Cuban Linx and was one of the most prominent members on Forever. He was in a great position after Forever to knock it out of the park on his sophomore album, and bombed big time.

I never knew why he didn't have RZA do Immobilarity. Did he just want a change of pace?

I play that album more than 36 Chambers, RZA expanded their sound. But yes 36 Chambers is what Wu-Tang is and is the definitive classic, even though Wu-Tang Forever is them at their zenith from a production standpoint and a popularity.

He expended the sound but the energy was not there on that album besides Ghostface. 36 Chambers isn't as great or diverse sonically, but you get the impression every member was trying to standout with every guest spot they got.

Easily best double album ever :skip:

Life After Death is a 10 MIC album. That’s the most well rounded full Hip-Hop album in HISTORY. Let alone DOUBLE album :beli:

Lyrics
Beats
Storytelling
Club
Radio
Street
Grimy
Party

ALL THAT :whoo:

I think they were beefing but I could be wrong. Ghost isn't on the album either if I remember correctly. Just a weird decision. Granted it had a couple bangers (Live From NY, and the Sneakers joint Pete Rock did)

He wasn’t fukking with RZA production after Forever. That Bobby Digital bullshyt and some lackluster beats consistently. I don’t know why he didn’t opt for other big name producers tho. Only Carlos “Six July” Broady & Pete Rock did I recognize. He went with no names. And he was still on Loud. It didn’t make sense. Not even 4th Disciple or True Master. Maybe he was taking a step away from the Wu sound. His next album after that sucked too. That one was trash. Lex Diamond Story?
