according to multicultural model there is no language of the land because the constitution does not specify a language

Yet people still primarily speak english and french. Putting words on paper cannot make people respect the order of things. But, friend, when you already have an established culture and way of life the order will dictate the minority that come under its influence. Your concerns are much ado about nothing friend. This commercial, is meaningless and will not effect anything and isnt symbolic of anything anyone should concerned about outside of some racists.

no, why would i secede, the only side im on is the constitution of the united states, according to the constitution all government policies should be decided through elected officials and all citizens should abide by the decisions of democratically elected officials

yeah exactly, in your opinion, but like i said the multicultural movement goes further and tries to say if government doesn't put out information in different languages its a violation of rights, which is stupid in my opinion

and the reason why the government should not put out information in different languages is because it encourages people to hold on to their language which is not a model that the us should follow

if there is one thing the us has gotten right in the past 100 years is shoving english and american culture down immigrants throats, that process of assimilation and integration and the resulting exchange of ideas and information is what has made america great and has made the us governable despite massive immigration and diverse populations

in and of itself cultural diversity is a bad thing as far as governance and national progress is concerned and without strong integrations forces social cohesion lessens and the territory known as the us becomes less governable

its extremely important for a non homogenous society like the US to have a common language and common culture

The idea that a government has to force a culture on anyone is silly. A government governs, the people create and evolve the culture. The more and more people scratch and pick at the differences the more and more people start to notice them and make them a big deal. The coke commercial is a perfect example. It's not really a big deal, it doesn't change anything in America, but now there's a highlighted sentiment that not speaking english is unamerican when it's not.

That culture you just described isn't a culture, it's a mode of governance. That culture you described is practiced in many countries the world over, are they also american now? Keep shooting high and general though, that's your safest bet.

You can't paint american culture because to do so you hit to many other cultures and you know it. American culture is an amalgamation of immigrant customs and cultures, right down to American Apple Pie (Dutch).

Embrace OUR history and all of it's origins. THAT is what american multiculturalism is and that's why it's ignorant to deny it.
