But then again I’m not coming from a position of trying to “care less” or apathy towards women. If she breaks bad that’s ok. Not all relationships go the distance and I won’t sit back and feel like she “got one over on me”.

How long had it been since her last relationship/ex and does she have a decent friend support system?

I personally think she’ll double back when she realizes overall how great things were between the two of you. If you treated her as well as you say you did that is.

It’s funny because in this thread it’s always about women being dramatic and traumatized but yet you self admitted that you were “numb about relationships”. No disrespect but it sounds like YOU haven’t healed yet either brother holding on to past trauma from another woman.

I’ve mostly been lurking this thread but It’s interesting because 90% of the post in this thread shyt on woman for having baggage/trauma when 90% of this thread IS us as men carrying around hardline rules and trauma from previous interactions. Me thinks that we need to sit down and heal as well. I’d think it would be a self fulfilling prophecy to continually expect a chick to break bad. Thoughts are power. I have been like that too.

We broke up with our ex’s around the same time so about 8 months before we met. I’ve been working on myself a lot, but you right bruh I still have a long ways to go to completely heal myself. She does have friends, but has issues with a few of them who I suggested to cut ties with and keep her friends who were down with her close and tight.

I did treat her very well, and made sure to never hold my grudges in my past relationship against this girl. I would take her on dates regularly, gave her flowers, check up on her on a daily basis, and just support her in general.

I do think there’s a chance she doubles back, I’m not waiting on her but I’m willing to try again as long as she has worked on herself. And I appreciate the advice my brotha, always gotta make sure to reflect on my mistakes as well. For now I’ll continue on my grind and improving myself further.

Long as the gift ain’t breaking the bank who cares. Better to put your best foot forward rather then trying to avoid regret in case things go bad

i been on and off messing around with my ex for years....we hook up and spend time together it goes no where we drift apart....rinse repeat.

Last Friday...she's sick...i go with her to the hospital ER....I get sick yesterday myself...so i call her this morning to check on her and tell her that i caught something too....she tells me that she got engaged yesterday.....


im like chick why you didnt tell me you was dating somebody....she tells me that they made it official on Christmas....and then he proposed yesterday.....im like....i know you...this aint somebody who dropped outta the sky on christmas...you been dealing with dude....of course she tries to quantify it and say they were never 'dating' until christmas....no man with sense is getting official with somebody and 3 days later proposing UNLESS yall been dealing with each other for MONTHS.....

mind you we smashed recently.....and i been staying over being around her kids...i was there FRIDAY.....



i just laughed at her and told her i wish her the best and hung up.....

my point: is that this man has NO IDEA what he's gotten himself into....this is a chick thats in church EVERY SUNDAY...puts on the role of good girl....the whole thing.....and she kicking it with me...with him somewhere thinking he found him one.....
