wandering around after a date is usually the best part. Not sure I understand the reasoning for not doing that. anyone that wants to walk around with you after is usually feeling you enough to at least make out for awhile. esp. if it's the woman suggesting the walk. I like walking so almost always do anyway, but if she says it....
as for "what do you do", that's front loaded into almost every interaction in America. Even if it irritates me too, I can't take that too personally.
