Question: Why is it always held against Kobe that he played with Shaq when Magic had Kareem?

I definitely agree that trying to play Kobe like he was Maxwell to Shaqs Hakeem is disrespectful, but during that three peat we all knew who the man was

:shaq:

Kareem got robbed of the 1980 NBA Finals MVP

So in actuality, its really

Magic 2
Kareem 2
Worthy 1

in terms of Finals MVP during the Showtime runs

Exactly. REAL nikkas know this.

The only people who think Kobe was a "sidekick" for all 3 titles are guys who have favorite teams for NFL, MLB, NHL, CFB, CBB, EPL, La Liga, Euroleague but no favorite NBA team cuz they stuck on one nikkas dikk.

Kobe averaged 29/7/6 in the 2001 playoffs he averaged 27/9/6 in the 2001 playoffs yet somehow Shaq carried Kobe. Against the Spurs (2nd best team in the league) he averaged 33/7/6, yet somehow he was carried. It’s funny to me cause Bron averaged 25/8/6 in the 2013 playoffs in which he won finals mvp. Bron fans use shaq to discredit Kobe not realizing that Kobe put up better numbers as a “sidekicks” than bron did as the #1 guy and FMVP

All facts, 2001 Kobe on those heats teams wins four straight with Bron as the sidekick.

There's 2 things that LeGBT fags and media nerds use against Kobe that you NEVER hear REAL, ACTUAL PROFESSIONAL BALLERS AND EXECS say

1. Kobe's first 3 rings are sidekick rings
2. Kobe's FG% disqualifies him from the GOAT argument

both of those talking points are strictly for haters and nerds......

When magic had y'all running, there wasn't a narrative that was engineered the protect the prior generation's GOAT like Kobe faced. The scrutiny was deeper because a lot of people wee and still arent ready to let go of Jordan.

A Lakers fan is asking this question? Jesus fukking Christ :mjlol:

You're not a Lakers fan, you're just a Kobe dikkrider :dame:

Do you know your history? You remember the time when Magic came in the league as a rookie and Kareem got injured in the finals, so Magic won that shyt single-handedly while playing all 5 positions? 42/15 in Game 7 of the NBA finals as a rookie, starting at center, that's fukking why. And that was a year after Magic had won the NCAA title, so he had proved himself as a serious basketball player by the time he entered the league, meanwhile Kobe came straight out of highschool and wasnt doing shyt when he entered the league until Shaq left the Magic.

Kobe averaged 7/2/2 points as a rookie.
Magic averaged 18/7/7. 18/9/10 and 3 steals in the playoffs, and was the first and only rookie Finals MVP in NBA history. :heh:

Magic was already averaging more assists and rebounds as a rookie than Kobe ever did his entire career. Had more assists rolling out of bed than Kobe could get on a good day.:mjlol: Not to mention the most cited reason, that Kareem was 34, just exiting his prime, by the time Magic entered the league. Shaq was 24 when he joined the Lakers, just entering his prime.

Edit: Shaq was already on the Lakers when Kobe was drafted, my b :hubie: Point still stands

the "but he had Shaq" talking point is just a result of the LeGBT Community :yeshrug: Nothing more nothing less. No real professional ballers use that against Kobe because they know the deal. Kobe was the better player 2001 and after, Phil Jackson himself acknowledged this....this is common knowledge in real basketball circles

Perfectly said :salute:

Kareem was 32 years old and nearing the end of his prime while magic was 12 years younger and on the upswing.

honestly magic and kareem should both have 2 finals MVP as cap was averaging 33 in the 80 finals vs philly and had the GW shot in game 5 and rolled his ankle and magic balled out in game 6 but cap should've won finals mvp

he was 32 played another 8-9 seasons, made 8-9 more all star games and was league mvp the year magic arrived kareem also missed the playoffs in his prime. Not sure what your point is

the lakers went to the finals after kareem retired

I’ll give you that season, Shaq was on another level of dominance. But after that Kobe was a top 5 player in the league but there’s forever a lopsided view that Kobe was some helpless actor in this that benefitted from Shaq’s presence.

They both benefited from each other but shaq was the key cog that's all I'm saying.I watched that lakers dynasty I remember it vividly

afro kobe was skilled and use to kill teams but wasn't ready to lead yet, he eventually got there the 2nd go round with phil after acquiring pau
