I dunno it varies for me, i dunno if it has to do with the quality of the game or just where I'm at personally or something else but some years I get heavy into the NBA, some years it's college ball, some years it's rap.
I love the NBA this year but I was watching less than ever last season

2012, i was paying attention to every New artist/release in hip hop, thus year I have yet to hear the drake mixtape fully and only heard the Lupe album once

I still love watching the NBA.. I'll always be a fan. I even use my league pass when I'm out of town and away from home. There's a great new crop of young players coming in which is adding some parity to the league which is good.. There needs to be some tweaks though. Less timeouts, especially in the final minutes of a game. Get rid of the hack a shaq. Reseed the playoffs- I want the best teams in. Flex the national television schedule, etc. But the league is great imo. NBA and College Football are my sh*t.. NFL is third in my house:yeshrug:

there are still a handfull of good teams to watch but they're mostly in the Western conference

EDIT: I guess the reason why the NBA may come off as boring to some b/c there aren't as many grudges and heated rivalries among teams nowadays.

The closest one in recent times i can think of is the Bulls vs the Heat (before lebron got traded)

Do you feel like you're gonna give a fukk about the NBA when you're 40? I don't at all. My interest is at an alltime low. Im pretty much at the "wake me up when the playoffs start" phase. I tune in sometimes and have no idea who any but maybe 3 or 4 payers are where back in the day I could name damn near entire rosters. Currently there's literally a handful of players left from my "childhood" Kobe, Duncan, Pierce and Garnett. When they are gon I think ill officially be done as far as having an emotional connection to the game. After them, lll watch a few more years to see what the guys my own age do(LeBron, Melo, Durant). As I get older and the players become younger im just losing interest more and more every year

Basketball is the best and my favorite sport IMO and I haven't loss interest if anything my interest is at an all time high. There's so many great players in the league right now that I want to see them play. Now I agree the playoffs is what I wait for but I bid my time by watching during the regular season especially my Rockets. I also watch those good matchups on TNT and ESPN. I wanna see KD vs Lebron, Westbrook vs Curry, Wall vs DRose, etc.

I wanna see the real ballers ball so I'll keep watching. Like when Lebron came in the league I had heard of him but never saw him play. Mostly cuz I wasn't about to watch a high school player like that. But his first game in Sactown vs the Kings my eyes were glued to the screen and that night in Sacramento Lebron became my favorite player in the league.

Just things like that keep me watch. Who is the next best player on the planet? Is anyone ever gonna overtake Jordan for GOAT? If so I wanna see it.

If anything my interest in college football has gone down, I use to be a college football JUNKIE in High school and early in college but,

it just feels weird Rooting and screaming for a bunch of teenagers playing a game :manny: that's just me though

I think the business side of sports coming to the forefront is ruining it. Everybody wants to be in on the long term strategies. Contract talks dominate everything after midseason, who's staying, who's going. It seems like the sports media stations don't even analyze the actual game. They just run a couple seconds of highlights and just right into the front office crap. The worst part os that you can't get away from it even if you just wanted to enjoy the sport. And also, everyrhing being so damned over analyzed makes me watch the few games I do watch, on mute, or with a soundtrack.

i was really gonna make a thread on this the other day. Not just about NBA, but about pro sports in general. the last few months I just haven't given an eff.

I watched the SB, but wasn't much in to it for whatever reason. I was really anticipating this NBA season at the beginning...I was even going to order League Pass. But then I just lost interest quickly for some reason. Maybe it's because I'm tired of seeing the same teams featured every night. Clippers, Thunder, Lebron, etc. Just no variety. Maybe it's all the injuries. Who knows. I know there's alot of good young players, so maybe I'll get interested again when the playoffs start.

But I definitely get your "getting older, players getting younger" point.....which is weird b/c I still love college football and I dont see that changing much

Its weird but as I turned 30 I start kinda rooting for players and teams same age or vets (Spurs, Heat) but you also look out for your fav teams and young players (Magic, Pistons). You can definetly still have an interest. I see a lot of NBA online fans, statgeeks etc are dudes in their 30s. I would say the casuals still only give a fukk about the 'offs but depending on your team and your interest in seeing players develop you definetly keep a little eye out on the reg season.

The fact is the NBA isn't what it was because the superstars aren't as great...personality wise. And the rivalries suck. When I was younger you had Pistons vs. Bulls, Knicks vs. Heat, Kings vs. Lakers... I don't get the vibe that level of competition exists anymore. Lebron wants everyone to be friends in the end and it's too p*ssy for me to be heavily invested in.

Plus the lakers suck right now.
