You're spot on. I dont remember sports being being like the WWE growing up. Just too much gossip now:scust:
I think the business side of sports coming to the forefront is ruining it. Everybody wants to be in on the long term strategies. Contract talks dominate everything after midseason, who's staying, who's going. It seems like the sports media stations don't even analyze the actual game. They just run a couple seconds of highlights and just right into the front office crap. The worst part os that you can't get away from it even if you just wanted to enjoy the sport. And also, everyrhing being so damned over analyzed makes me watch the few games I do watch, on mute, or with a soundtrack.

I don't watch a lot of basketball because my local team has been stinking up the joint for like 5 years. No other team can hold my attention like the Pistons :mjcry:

Basically playoffs and some regular season for me

Do you feel like you're gonna give a fukk about the NBA when you're 40? I don't at all. My interest is at an alltime low. Im pretty much at the "wake me up when the playoffs start" phase. I tune in sometimes and have no idea who any but maybe 3 or 4 payers are where back in the day I could name damn near entire rosters. Currently there's literally a handful of players left from my "childhood" Kobe, Duncan, Pierce and Garnett. When they are gon I think ill officially be done as far as having an emotional connection to the game. After them, lll watch a few more years to see what the guys my own age do(LeBron, Melo, Durant). As I get older and the players become younger im just losing interest more and more every year
If I was a hawks fan, I would feel you bruh :mjpls:

I did feel this way at one point I guess once all the ballers I looked up to retired, and the new stars got younger than me. That is a weird transition. I know in real life I ball more now than I did over the last decade so my love for the game is probably stronger than its ever been. I got kids, my youngest daughter is fan, we go to games. So for me personally? I'd say I'll be still have a deep vested interest in the NBA for the foreseeable future

Besides.. Wiz should be winning multiple titles soon

While everyone likes to root for the old guys, the TRUTH is the truth was more of a liability than an asset all year long and during the playoffs. We only won 43 games, should have won more.. didn't. Paul didn't contribute much.

Playoff time, and people wanna remember a nikka making 2 last second shots. Forgetting that he was ineffective in more playoff games than not. Otto Porter was put in and shined his ass off. Played the type of Defense Old man Paul just isn't capable of doing anymore. Every team we played, their SF and PF dominated us, and all people wanna remember is I CALLED GAME :francis: I'd rather have a younger quicker player who knows what his damn role is like a good Jabroni. Before paul we had Trevor A3za, Martel Webster. Long story short, we can put damn near anyone in that "role" and they could shine.

Word to Alan Anderson, Gary Neal: The Jarred Dudley boyz :blessed:

That's life.
What you can do is focus on one sport and one team. When it comes to other sports, you are going to have to drop them off to secondary status. You got other things in life to care about, You aren't young anymore and so you have less free time. You can watch baseball and try to remember some guys on the roster, you can watch football and try to remember some guys on that roster. Then, you got basketball. With all these trades, injuries, other teams' important players, and college ball up-and-comers, it becomes a total stat overload. Narrow your focus, you have to. You can't be a know-it-all and live a normal adult life, unless you are in the sports news business, where it is your job to know.

You can try this one trick, don't be a fan of an NBA team and focus on your favorite college team, football or basketball. Less games, less key players, no traded players, less to know and be a guru and fan. It works.
The other thing is to switch to NFL football exclusively. Shorter season, one game a week. Less to know. MLB is crazy. Long season. Tons of players. Bullpen is ever changing craziness with guys coming up from minor-league, guys getting traded, guys getting injured.

My life responsibilities are always evolving but I'll always make time for football and the NBA
