Lead Actor to be in the 35 year old age range :patrice: Playing an alcoholic movie critic for a second rate porno mag:pachaha:“…the porno rag critic was very, very funny. He was very rude, you know. He cursed. He used racial slurs :mjpls:But his s--- was really funny. He was as rude as hell."

Tarantino has stated in the past that his favorite actor of the newer generation of actors that could fit that age range is Chris Pine. He’s 42 years old but could pass as younger. Who else could he cast in the lead role? Jonah Hill? Miles Teller? Jake Gyllenhaal? Shia LaBeouf? He will not cast a British actor per Tarantino in previous interview.

Jeremy Allen White is 32 but would kill it. He would blend into that 70s setting well. Remember watching The Bear thinking how much dude resembled a younger Gene Wilder.

Shia would be a cool pick as well if he can stay out of trouble. He’s pretty damn talented as an actor but it feels like he’s fighting demons at the same time too.

I think the lead actor is going to be a known name for box office purposes. I mean, above all, he has to be a great fit for the role & a great actor but I think it won’t be a Jeremy Allen White. You’re right about Shia. Very talented & also troubled which actually could make him great fit.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Quentin ends up casting a lead who could use a bounceback or someone who hasn’t ever got that kind of spotlight before in a feature film. Known names are cool, but seeing an up-and-comer actor get the shine in his final outing would be even cooler IMO.

With Quentin anything is possible. He did cast Christoph Waltz in Inglourious Basterds out of the blue. It has to be somebody he truly has in his mind for the role. I’m sure he is open to a pretty wide casting search if he isn’t completely sold on any one particular guy in mind.

Keep your eyes on Austin Butler. QT gave him his first shot.
