Almost all streaming movies have a low budget feel to them. Netflix original content always feels cheap to me

Because it is "cheap." It's not cheap in the sense of what they paid because they give every director or actor a nice check, I just don't think they use the best equipment, the best cameras, and you already know most of the best VFX artists and production designers are working on big studio tentpoles or with directors who have yet to move to a streamer. They stay within those tight knit Hollywood circles. Warner Bros. for example just has tons of in house sets and clothing all over their lot that the top designers can sift through and use. Netflix doesn't have a lot specific to that.

Some movies look dope on streamers like Cuaron's because he'll bring his whole team in or Scorsese because again everyone wants to work with him, those are not "Netflix movies" or "Apple movies" in the same sense because it's more that streamer will pay them a sum and then are completely hands off, Netflix will just slap their tag on it after the production is complete.

Okja is trash as were some of those other films.
My issue isn't with streaming as a delivery method my issue is most of the content they produce is based on algorithms and not art so they are easily forgettable
That def plays a part in straight to streaming, but there are def films they've given chances to because bigger dropped them. I do feel the majority of the films do fall under that category of algorithm, but you do get a few that are at least considered for award season

Didn’t Apple TV+ have a direct to Apple movie win some Oscars?
Yes I was correct, CODA won best picture, best supporting actor, and best adapted screenplay at the Academy Awards

Also won BAFTA best screenplay, AFI movie of the year, WGA best adapted screenplay, and Sundance Grandy Jury prize for a few notable others

Because they don't put marketing dollars in most of them, Extraction and The Gray Man were talked about a lot and pretty much everyone I know saw them in the same weekend, but 90% of those streaming movies don't get any ad money put on them.

And, other than The Irishman QT isn’t really wrong. He could however be a part of changing that, if he felt compelled to do so.
If Reynolds made 50mil, how much did they pay Rock.

This is my issue with Netflix. They need to save this money for their shows. I woulda loved a Messiah season 2.

I get what QT is saying. Those streaming movies during covid was all azz. Matrix included.

They both got $20mm according to many sources
A large portion of Red Notice's budget went to securing its A-list cast. Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Renolds, and Gal Gadot were all paid $20 million each to star, with Netflix also paying Thurber $10 million to write and direct. $70 million is a lot of money to spend on four people before a second of footage is filmed, even with big names.
