The situation isn't as advantageous for him anymore so he found a common complaint going around and gassed it. His production strategies and the companies he used to collab with are no longer on top. He's officially in the old guard now. Meanwhile you have directors like Nolan. Nolan could've said fukk it I'm out once his Warner deal went left. But he kept going with new partners.

& Scorsese.. idk how he keeps going with the long tail streamer deals that he gets.. but he does it even though he's got similar complaints as Tarantino. I think he's just got other things that he wants to do.

TV has been the far superior platform for a while now. Just much better quality overall.

There is also the lack of genuine movie stars. You can't say or market the new Denzel/Tom Cruise/Brad Pitt/Will Smith/Tom Hanks/Leonardo/etc. movie.

The lack of movie stars has killed the mid-budget film. You could sell a film like Philadelphia because it had Tom Hanks & young Denzel, Pulp Fiction due to Travolta...how many shytty rom coms got made because of Jennifer Aniston starring in them.

Don’t get me wrong I got some great memories at the theater, going out with my parents, first dates, etc but if I can’t make the time to go at the middle of the day on a Monday then fukk the movies

This is why you gotta go to indie/fine art theaters and film festivals for the experience

But yea maybe the big Hollywood movie industry is gone.

I guess it’s in Korea now :banderas:

The video if anyone curious. He's mainly talking about how going to the cinema used to be an event, but how at its best its a two way street. The director/production is promising to wow/razzle and dazzle you but you're supposed to give them you undivided attention.

Nothing means shyt anymore, its all meant to be quickly consumed and onto the next. Same thing happened to music. Everything is content now to pump numbers on a screen. The line must always go up.

When they price gouged the price at the box office. To create how most of these revenue grab corporate thieves started to operate. As well as let marketing companies sell box office packages to corporations.
It made it so.

Unless you are there. The opening Thursday premiere. It is not worth it.
to travel to the movies.
