Portland hasn't figured anything out. For all the solid pickups they make, they constantly draft players who have had some injury concerns over and over again. They don't sign superstars...just solid players to build around their top draft pick.

The Knicks management has sucked for a long time, what else is new? I'll tell you what is...The Knicks actually having a top draft pick who outperformed what people expected out of him, CAP SPACE and an aging player who can still score pretty well. That's about as attractive the Knicks have been since Allan Houston, Sprewell and Camby were here in their primes...
Exactly . He seems like he'd only be happy trading melo and tanking to 76ers level
Problem is the Knicks have been incapable of finding hidden gems at a lower cost. They always just overpay...which is why we should wonder why Phils getting paid so much just to hand out big checks. Portland has figured it out...why cant the Knicks?
That's not true . The Knicks found Lin , Novak , Galloway etc they have been finding talent so stop it .

.

getting replacement level production from other players while replacing Melo's innefficient high volume wouldnt be all that hard. The Blazers were able to do it with LA leaving.

Who do you want to replace melo with ?? Cheap free agents ?

why would Carmelo be so difficult to replace? He's a volume shooter and his shooting clip is about league average. Disperse those shots to a few other guys and you'll have the same result for a lot less $$. The offense going through Rose and Carmelo will not be a good offense, just based off of their career TS% numbers and volume...

Not really. They did it with a top 10 pick guard that was already on their roster with LA there. Aldridge's production wasn't really replaced.

The shots that LA took went to other guys. They let other decent shooters take more shots(CJ, Crabbe and then Aminu, Plumlee, Davis). No different than what would happen with Carmelo leaving. Portland's offense finished about the same I believe as they did the year prior.

Wing players shooting in that 53-56TS% range is pretty replaceable...

Those players were already on the team though. It's not the same as Melo leaving and say "well, at least that's more shots for Grant, Galloway, Early, Williams and Vujacic." All their talent minus Plumlee were lotto picks. The Blazers had a deep team; they were just young. The Knicks really don't (and the reason why Portland's offense stayed the same is because Lillard was easily able to take the reins.) Who on the Knicks did you want shouldering that load? Porzingis, the guy who isn't that good?

shytting on The Phantom like this:scust:shytting on Melo like he wasn't getting ready to explode before a bytchass ref in Boston injured him:scust:We'll be fine. Healthy we're a 4-6 seed:blessed:Either way regardless of what happens I'm still repping Knickstape and I know we'll be getting some wins just off the fact that other teams will sleep on us:ufdup:
